I put custom labels on my game back-ups and was wondering if people ever have problems with games reading because of these labels. I sometimes get the dirty disc error and I don't understand why, because the games arn't scratched.. I figure the labels for some reason..

If this is the case can someone suggest a good label or should I just stop doing this?

I assume one of two things..

On Madden 07 it gives me the disc is unreadable error only when trying to load a game.. That's it.. so I guess the disc is just scratched in that exact area that it reads..

Or

Laser reader in DVD drive is going bad..

Here's a good one:

At the ripe age of 13? 14? I managed to put a sticky note on a cd I had burned to remind me to label it later. Unfortunately, I put the cd in the drive without removing the sticky note, and voila! One big mess of light adhesive and shredded paper inside my drive.

Since then, I've always used a permanent marker and nothing else. Talk about negative reinforcement.

I never put labels on as the adhesive does eventually does affect the dvd and you`ll get errors....I use to do this many years ago and I was getting errors.I found out that it was these studid adhesive labels that was causing errors...Just stick to your cd pen or invest in a printer that prints on dvd.....

For now on I won't be usin them.. I did another copy of my Madden and it works flawlessly.. Still can't determine if it the label or scratches on the other disc but we will see how this works..
