>> A new Toshiba-samsung firmware for the xbox360 has been released!

(v5.1) Open Tray errors fixed (PFI and SS read routines updated)
(v5.1) 5.1c (Dual speed, default fast) and 5.1d (Dual speed default quiet\slow) read speed (Originals unaffected). Both toggle with original Xbox1/360 disc
(V5.1) Xbox1 DDE errors caused by firmware, patched
(V5.1) Possible Xbox1/360 DDE errors caused by firmware, patched
(V5.1) Single Layer DVD disc support(+/-RW) for both Xbox1 and 360
(v5.1) New easier batch file "Make Xtreme firmware.cmd" to make all firmwares.

*Open tray errors now fixed for good, but "Open Tray" is still a valid status for disc insertions when the drive cannot recognize the disc.
*Dual speed firmwares C (default fast) and D (default quite/slow) return. Both toggle with original Xbox1/360 disc. Originals unaffected.
*Added patch to routines that specifically targeted Xbox 1 discs with read errors
*Added patch to a routine that may have caused read errors on Xbox1/360 discs.
*Added support for -/+RW discs for both Xbox1 and 360 discs.
*Added easier batch file to create firmwares "Make Xtreme firmware.cmd".

Single layer disks are supported for both Xbox1 and 360 (360 Single layer is supported, but not yet able to be reproduced correctly). For Xbox 1 the disks can be in either the same normal raw dump method or in XBOX file ISO format. This fully works with Xbox 1 using the new(not released yet) Qwix(info) or gdfimage created ISO. The default.xbe must be unmodified and still be signed (If in doubt , copy from original). Use xbefix to check if your xbe has been modified and needs to be unpatched.

360 file ISO is still in development. The exact structure for the 360 disc is being developed and a new Qwix will support the creation of these disks.

360 SL was already supported in 5.0, just nothing to create the disks with so far.

FOr Xtreme 5.1A backup Read Speed is always same as original game disks 12x. Original discs unaffected

FOr Xtreme 5.1B backup Read Speed is always quiet/slow. Original discs unaffected.

FOr Xtreme 5.1C default backup Read Speed is same as original game disks 12x. When Original Game disk is booted, all subsequent backup loading will be at Quiet/Slow Read mode, Original Game disks are unaffected. Turn console off/on to reset back to Default backup read speed (12x). Quiet/Slow Read Speed is for quiet operation and/or cheap DVD+R DL media.

FOr Xtreme 5.1D default backup Read Speed is Quiet/Slow 2-4x. When Original Game disk is booted, all subsequent backup loading will be at Fast Read mode 12x, Original Game disks are unaffected. Turn console off/on to reset back to Default backup read speed for backups (2-4x).

All the firmware's for patching should come in a folder called fw in your package.
and the folder should be in the same directory as the make.cmd with your orig.bin and x360sam.exe

First: Thanks for your hard work C4E!

I have a question,
I have a Backup of my original GTA-SA wich runs on FW5.0 until the next Level but than crashed. Yet with the new FW my Xbox want to make a Update from XBoxLIVE! (of the same Disk I have played with FW5.0)to play this game. The original Disk need no Update to play this. I wonder what this is? Can you help me? Is this Update safe?

I have a TS-H943 ms25 H/W:005 Ver.A

Thank you for your Help

you have to run the make xtreme firmware.cmd from the same folder using a dos command prompt. and if the folder name contains a dot (i.e. xtreme5.1), it won't work, so rename the folder to i.e. xtreme51.

ok I do the Update and it works.

Is this the case?: I write in german cause my english is too bad.

kann es sein das die Firmware jedes Game als das selbe erkennt?
Also das (wie z.Bsp. in meinem Fall) GTA als ein Spiel erkannt wird welches  in der FW vorgegeben ist. für das das Update benötigt wurde? Also quasi ein Fake. Jedes weitere Game wird dann auch als dieses erkannt(wofür update gedacht ist).
Das würde ja auch erklären warum kein SS mehr benötigt wird, weil die FW jedes Spiel als ein und das selbe identifiziert?
Sorry for that noob question.

Ich versteh nur nicht warum dann nochmal ein Update von nöten war.
Ich meine nur weil ich das Game vorher schon oft gespielt hatte von der Original Disk. Somit hatte ich GTA schon längst geupdatet.
Komische Sache das. Huh

naja, it works! Das is Hauptsache Grin

Danke nochmal für die harte Arbeit an alle beteiligten.

I'm a noob and I have TS-H943 drive with F/W ms25 and I want to flash with Xtreme firmware V5.1 but I have few questions. I already read readme.txt supplied with Xtreme5.1-final.rar, can anyone confirm following steps?

1. make bootable usb flash drive and take backup of org.firmware using this cmd. "mtkflash r /m orig.bin".

2. Copy this orig.bin to the same folder and then run "Make Xtreme firmware.cmd"

3. Where will ite make x51x.bin ?

Can anyone describe more step by step guide?

That's great work!
I have 4.2A, and I get open tray everytime I try to change a game (original or backup) to a backup, if the game has been running for more than two minutes. I usually have turn the x360 off, and wait 1-2 hours before I can play another backup (all backups are verbatim). Great to hear that open tray is fixed!

Anyone with open tray errors tried this?

Open tray error is not fixed.Sad

I have a xbox360, ms25, manufactured 12-02-2005, PAL. I have burned backup games on a Verbatim DVD+R DL (2,4x), using both cloneCD and Nero on a Nec Optiarc AD-5170A (original firmware). I burned all of them on 2,4x speed.

First firmware I used was Xtreme 4.2A, which let me play all of my backup games, if I let the console be off for about 1-2 hours otherwise it was open tray, no matter how many times I retried. When they played, they played perfectly, just as originals. Today I updated to Xtreme 5.1C. I inserted the enable 0800 disc, waited 10-15 sec, removed the disc, and runned "mtkflash w /m /sata x51c.bin", when the DVD-ROM was connected to the PC. The flash was successful.

What has changed? Nothing, exactly as 4.2A. I believe the reading (the sound) of a disc has changed when it boots them. But if I play for a while, I still get the open tray error when I switch backups.

Hope this information will help solving the open tray error.

Edit: I forgot to mention, both 4.2A and 5.1C firmwares were not modified to report as ms25, I just used ms28.

Hell, I got the open tray crap before I flashed my 360.  Only thing I can tell you for that, it is probably a hardware glitch in the DVD-ROM.  When mine opens, I don't let the tray come out all the way...then I hit the eject button a couple of times to reload the gam.  Usually after the 3rd time, the 360 will keep the backup or original.

But for clarification, my 360 had "open tray" error long before I knew you could flash the firmware.

The Xbox reads all originals without problems, everytime, no matter how long I have played.

I don't let the tray come out all the way
Does it come about half the way out, or more/less, when you stop it?
