Does anyone know what the X: is in the system info blade ?

I think its a hash of the firmware, if so any update from now on will result in a ban (my guess).

For what its worth, new 360's dont have this untill the live update.

Quick question guys, if flash my ms-25 thats been that already has 4.2a and reports as a ms-28 with the 5.0x, should I worry about getting e66 if I just use Make X50a or b.bin with my orig.bin and flash it? I don't think that I would, but I want to see what other people thought.

Thanks,

Sadalius

if 4.2 works, so will 5.0.

Ok I do a Backup of GTA San-SA.

the way:
1. rip the whole DVD with Isobuster
2. extract all files with wx360.exe from rawdump to a directory
3. create a xdvdfs iso of this files with kraxtion4.0 , name it game.iso
4. burn this game.iso (like it stand in README, or am I wrong?)

Disk boot with xbox1 boot-screen than become a Message for Update this game. After the Update (it take 2-3 Minutes to load from LIVE!) I get this Errormessage: X:5014 B: 1884

Can anybody help me what I m doing wrong?

Craxtion v4.0 normally auto-patches all .XBE files, unless you disable that option. And I don't think it builds the image
like the GDFIMAGE program that says to use in the "README".

Yes it autopatch the xbe but I disabled it before.
Craxtion is based on gdfimage, isnt it? Correct me if i m wrong.

Another Question: Is rewritable DVD-rw Disks supported with v5 Firmware? If yes what Booktype to choose? dvd-rw?

Has anyone goten single layer to work at all?

I have tried craxtion, gnu gdfimage, orginal ms gdfimage for building isos of games from files. I verified the xbe signature on all burns. I tried dumping directly from my orginals and building isos. nothing works. all report errors. i tried other region games which report a region error. I tried old and new games. i tried launch games and games released this year. I tried DVD+RW and just incase RW was the problem tried a hand full of +R. nothing has worked.

if you have had success with single layer. please detail your entire process so i can try to replicate it.

also if you have success please report which firmware you are using a or b.

Edit:
I just tried burning valid xbox game files in nero with udf xbox compatible disc format to see how the 360 would react. It gives me the exact same error that i got before when burning in xbox dvd filesystem.

This leads me to beleive the the function within the new firmware for triggering a challenge response isn't happening to authenticate these discs even when built with gdfimage. so it is simply reading the disc and not recognizing it as authenticated. well thats my theory at least. i am going to pull apart my drive again and do some tests with  various firmwares and see what happens then.

Bluecop and anyone else that has been testing the single layer Xbox 1 backups... Do you have an original modded Xbox that you can test your Xbox 1 single layer backups on? I'm curious to see whether any of your backups would work in it as opposed to the 360... I would test but I don't have my modded 360 on hand and won't for a while... Sad

yes i can verify that these same burns work 100% in an orginal modified xbox

from the success reports i have seen on another forum. it seems that dvd-r might be working. i don't currently have any so i can't be sure. this might have something to do with why the +R or +RW discs aren't geting authenticated.

I have been only using Verbatim DVD-R MCC 03RG20 media with my backups and so far I havent had any success in getting them to work...

Three more questions, what is the error message that your getting when you put your disc in the 360?

When you first extracted the ISO from Schtrom360Xtract V3.1 (XBC for that matter) did you use the 'Sector Mapping' option or did you extact without it?

Would there even be any difference from extracting with 'Sector Mapping' on or off thats substantial enough to make one method boot over another?

Since version 4.2 and in 5.0 the Samsung Xtreme firmware has the feature "FIRMGUARD",
which means if you wish to upgrade your drive from v4.2 you need to boot the drive first
with the ENABLE0800 burned onto a DUAL-LAYER PLUS DISC and then start the flash
process to upgrade to 5.0.

Once you running a 5.0 firmware, you will be able to use a SINGLE-LAYER version of the
ENABLE0800 disc to upgrade to a later 5.x firmwares. (NOT BEFORE UPGRADING to v5.0,
some users have been trying before upgrading!)

If you don't have the ENABLE0800 disc, and still want to upgrade the firmware
you will need to use either the VCC solder or the 10-second trick with a VIA
chipset, just like an original unmodded MS28 drive.

Most of the above info is already in the README and many times over in all the 5.0 threads!

Just jumping over here from X-S to post, so I can help give some feedback. I have been hearing alot of problems with xbox1 backups from here and X-S forums. I have had limited success (about 50%), and wanted to offer advice/info or whatever.

Before I say anything else, I would like to that everyone that contributed to the xbox scene. I don't want to name anyone, because that would give more credit to some than others and I don't like to step on peoples toes. Like you don't hear it enough... Thanks - You know who you are!

One thing I found out. I have a folder with all the files from my backup. I use GDFimage.exe to make an iso. I then created another iso also with GDFimage.exe of that same exact folder with no modification. The md5 hashes to NOT match... is this a problem? I would think if it creates the iso with the same files in the same order, the hashes should be the same.

MD5 hashes.
Original ISO unmodified from XBOX via ftp: de7f95c38e8664837383b8ed9453079e
Iso made with GDFimage from extracted iso: 23892005731cbccf338fb23b3e65e7e3
2nd ISO made with GDFimage from same files: 16677e790bc673c030d7e6c906ab8b47

Could this be a reason for the dirty disk errors? I was just messing around with iso creators to see if I can find one that works the best with xtreme 5.0, when I noticed this difference.

I really think removing the requirement for RAW dumps is a big mistake.
And now it's been done so your input is no longer necessary.
Hahahha This is the funniest thing ive read for a long time.

You could use a binary comparison tool to determine what byte/bytes are different.  I suspect the order of the files in the image may not be consistent.  I haven't tried this yet, but xdvdfs layouts may correct this (assuming all the data is on a single layer to start).
