Can anyone explain what is wrong with my system?
When I try and play NBA2k7 the system shuts itself when the ref throws the tip ball... I've tried different brands of discs, different sources, and had a friend try one and it worked in his...
The system also powers itself off when playing viva pinata, and need for speed carbon. I really don't understand it because other games play perfectly....
Could there be a problem with the firmware install? I've searched hi and low for information about peoples systems just shutting off without a error message and I can't find anything.
I do not play the system long enough for it to be over heating. I played Gears of War for 2 hrs the other day without a single problem.
It has a samsung drive and I'm not sure the person who upgraded it really knew what he was doing.
Any help would be appreciated. I believe he put the newest firmware on there the A one...

Try upgrading the firmware, check if your disk is scratched if you have any solder splashes etc..

Discs are perfect.
I would attempt to do the firmware again but I don't have the goods to do so....
Do you think it could be a bad flash or something?
Could one of the xbox updates have caused this issue?

Hmm, does it power over and give you an error on the screen. I'm thinking its an issue with the hard drive. Try clearning the hard drive cache. Just google "360 hard drive cache code"
