I have a new MS-28 xbox 360 I want to flash the xtreme firmware 4.2a or b on.  I would like to know if it is dueable on a Sil3114 SATA controller or do i have to use a VIA tech solution. I have seen this go back and forth and I was curious if there is a 100% answer to this. I don't mind buying the viatech card. But I have this SATA controller built in so I don't want to mess anything up I already have.  It is made by silicon image.  Thanks!

Also! Is there a reason i have to use VIA Tech and what is that reason if it is true?

From what i've heard the Sillicon Image 3114 controller is buggy as hell, I didn't even get it to work on my NF4 mobo. See three threads below Wink.

I wouldn't recommend using it, spend some few bucks on a decent sata controller with a VIA VT6241A chipset, then spending 299 dollars/euro's on a new Xbox 360 Wink

I am using the controller now and for me its great. I guess its one of the those things where it works for some and not for others.  I guess my questions is can I try it with xtreme boot maker with the customer mtk flash?
