none, cause the data in the eeprom doesn't match up with the data of the HD.

ahhhhhhhh yes
but

you can also apply the SetMaxLBA command to cheat the system with the LBA you want. So the sector counts shall be the same...

think it can be done?

Think about it, how does this circumvent the custom M$ hashed data on the disk which contains the size of the disk amongst other things ??

I hope that I don't say something stupid, but, let's have a try!

That information that is the special hdd area is the one used to generate the hash so we can't modify it. correct?
But if we could modify the firmware to just ignore that data to function with all the space and have some hardcode values for this somewhere else? The hash of that values would be the same but the firmware would know how to functioning with the drive. Or the xbox uses that initial info to set the size available to write?

I hope I could explain what I mean and that is not answered before.

I love this game! Smiley

No, data in the normal hdd area is hashed. How? We don't know. This data contains the size of the HDD.

Uhm .. the HDD firmware does not check or read that hashed data, the console kernel does. Yes we can fake the hashed data, sure. But we don't have a way to generate/calculate the new hash. Seriously, we're out of options. Compare it with the digital signature of a XEX/XBE file, same story.

um has the communcation between the xbox & hd been logged? didn't see any reference to indicates that it has been done.. (i mean the unlocking process)

btw it seems that you exchanged the sram chip so that the xbox would recognize the harddrive.. but there was a problem in the size of the hd?

i was wondering if you would make a converter for a normal sata hd to the xbox360 connection typ. and changed the firmware on the sram eeprom on a normal hd, wouldn't that work too?

guess reading through everything at 4 am isn't healty.. Smiley

First of all, re-read this thread from the beginning to the end ..

Second, yes communication has been logged. No, the hdd is not locked to the console.

The firmware is not in the sram chip. As has been mentioned before, we are out of options until a bigger official drive comes out. Until then there are NO other options we could try IMHO to get a bigger replacement HDD working.

cache space for both xbox 1 and 360, and HD emulation for the xbox 1 (save space etc).

Firmware is on the custom "Marvell" chip it is 1.5Mbit, this chip also holds the Sata controller, servo controller, dual DSP`s,

The TSL2502 is a Spindle motor / Atuater driver IC

Would you like the source code as well ?

Its a "Custom IC" therfore has a "Custom" manual only known to the people who made the IC.
So  you dont have a chance at finding more information than that.

You could always give Marvell a call

PS: There is some important information in the manual i gave you read it again Wink Wink
