if anyone's interested:

(modfreakz sent it to me, so don't ask me where I got that pic from...)

Datasheet:

http://www.samsung.com/Products/Semiconductor/Sync_AsyncDRAM/SDRSDRAM/Component/64Mbit/K4S641632H/ds_k4s64xx32h_rev18.pdf

I don't have the needed equipment to read the ram, so good luck to anyone.

TS: so yeah, you were right...

to me, segmented buffer "used for firmware" simply means that firmware is copied in top of ram.... there is also an "overlay firmware" of 1,5mbit on disk, i doubt it could be run from here.

lol yep, therefor, connect to the 360, start up, read out the firmware, so don't have to copy from the asic

I'm using a sat-pata converter because my motherboard is VA chipset and can't remap to primary and secondary channels.
The other 2 jumpers are one connected directly to the main Marvell chip, the other to the motor driver by a resistor and a capacitor, i'll try it later.

i'll have a dead hd next to a dead 360 soon Smiley

I know that this thread is VERY old, but did you get any more info on the serial commands?  I'm looking to change the serial number on a 20GB Samsung HD.

I suggest that you ask that on HDD/data recovery forums. The chance you get an useful answer there is like 90% bigger. Smiley
