Can the 0032CE drive now be flashed with Maximus 2.3?

Can the 0032CE drive now be flashed with Maximus 2.3? This is for a drive that's replacing a 47D.

On this topic at http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=674.20 there are posts saying that the chip needs to be replaced and flashed externally with the v40 (and inject key).

But on http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=4735.0 there is talk about a compatible v32 firmware being made.

Looking in the FWPACK.RAR there is a 32_23S.BIN (Not sure if that's always been there or is a new release) - Has anyone tried this and if so is it reliable?
