I was going to reflash my drive from xtreme 3.3 to 4.2b. I used samorig to return back to the original and tt flashed back to the original properly. I used samread to create the hacked firmware for the 4.2b but now I cannot flash using samhack. I have tried using MTKFlash w hacked.bin and even with all combinations of the /m and /sata flags.

I rechecked my hex edited MTKFlash and even did it again with xtreme boot maker, but I cannot detect my drive anymore. My drive just plays originals, but I want to make it be able to play with my backups as well. I own a VIA 6421 Sata Card.

Does anyone know why I cannot reflash the drive, especially since I was able to do it just a minute ago?

Thanks

Don't use the Sam hack stuff, it doesn't work properly.  Restore your drive with original firmware, then (making sure you have backups of the key) reflash it with Xtreme 4.2 (A for fast reading back ups (more noise) B for slower reading of back ups (less noise)).  When your re flashing it and you have the original firmware file...put it in the same folder where Xtreme 4.2 is.  Then use make42A (or B) to make your final hacked firmware with your key (this will work and you will not get any errors even after fall update!).  Come back and report!

I stopped it for a couple of days and decided to try out another SATA cable.  It flashed smoothly without a hitch.  I havent tried my old cable again, but right now I'm thinking the calbe might have been the case
