Just as the topic says boys.

I bought a via6421a  to flash ms28's with ease, and I've had no problems whatsover flashing ms28s now Cheesy

However, for some reason I was trying to flash a ms25 this evening and ran into some problems--I read the drive correctly, yet when I attempted to flash the hacked firmware back I got "status 80 should be 70"

I just resorted to flashing it with my onboard ich5 chipset, but I'm just boggled why the via wouldn't flash it when it could read it :S

Well I'm officially a moron--but this may help those having trouble with ms25 and a via chipset.

unlike other sata chipsets which spot the status 70 command after the flashing lights sequence, the via spots it before the flashing light sequence.

That being said, you have to run the command mtkflash r /w orig.bin BEFORE pretty much immediately after you turn on the 360--it just has to be before the lights do their flashing sequence.

Hope this helps someone

Yes the Read went fine just couldn't write ...It was all in the timing lol, I read somewhere to wait roughly 2.2 seconds but it wasn't working for me.  I read your post and tried them almost simultaneously and it worked.... Smiley

Bit Noobish I know..but was concentrating too hard on waiting 2.2 seconds lol

Cheers
