I need to know each IC's model name on 8164B's PCB. Can any one who has the drive try to take some clear picture which can let me read out the model name of each IC?
thanks a lot.

Im just wondering is it possible to Mod the GDR-8164 drive without the adapter? I flashed the drive already with the firmware that works great, but i want to know if it's possible to make the Mod with the yellow power cable from the XBOX itself? I already watched some diagrams but im confused with so much names from soldering points... does anybody already modded a GDR-8164 drive without the adapter and is it fully working? uploading diagrams on how to solder on the board from the drive would be apreciated! I got soldering skills so thats not the problem Wink thx in advance!

anita99, why do ya want these pics ? whats ya planning ? ..
using it for flashing chips only, converting to use in 360, or just wanting it for xbox ??

and MrVxor, yes u can u can build ya own adapter Wink
just ask and will link ya up Smiley

im wundering if any1 could mod the firmware from how it is, to enclude the C4E hack ?
but then i spose first the firmware has gotta be at a point that it can be used in an original xbox (not a modded one)
not sure how close patx team are to that ?

Mick ....

theres a DIY solution of the adapter, made from a pic 16f864.... can be found on an italian site here
http://www.xbox360-tribe.org/tutorials/xbox/87/adattatore-per-lg-8164b.html

was posted up by astaufik so all thx for him finding it, and has been made by Ciscoski
athou its all in italian, its still easy to follow, there've posted up diagrams, the hex code plus source !!!
even pics of it all installed and were to place everthing, plus the theory behind it all !!!

i personally have'nt made it, but looks VERY straight farward.. !

Well we could release a new firmware with full xbox drive emulation.. but we wont cause of ciscoski's adapter...

PPLS like MrVxor that use our FW without contribuing to our team are stopping developpement...

I hate cloner's... Don't wait for us to code you a FW for the homemade adapter... do your own.

Note that Ciscoski's mod will cost you more at the end and you will need a PIC programmer as well !!!

We are now working on a new adapter, the next FW release will be for that new adapter and it won't work with the homemade.

BTW this is no news to me... it is 2 months old (2006/06/12) :  http://forum.xbox360-tribe.org/xbox-hardware/t-adattatore-xbox-lg-gdr-8164b-57587/page2.html

At the end Ciscoski and I have made peace and he is now in my MSN messenger contact list Smiley ...

HI Cheesy
Yes , I and Patx signed a pace act.

My mod it's free but it's hard (??) to build without experience and instruments ...
You can use and mod it (but tell me the mod Tongue)

You can help patx buying his adapter ...
The 8164 firmware its him and his team creation and for this must contribuite ...

Bye

@gadget78

My project use a 16f628 not a 84 . If you whant use 84 you must add a osc circuite Wink
