Look on top of the drive.. it says ms28 probably..
Use the Vcc trick... you can find it by searching the forums... Smiley

Don't get angry when you get that message a few more times, just focus on the exact timing for shorting the wires and pressing 2 ( probably master on sata =2 )

You have to do those 2 things at exactly the same time ( some milliseconds delay won't matter, but just try and find out )

The chip does not need to be powered when detecting the drive.

You can take out the PCB, it's just that you have more sight then what you're doing.

!! Use crock clipps !! a decent ground is the least you can give to that sammy bitch  Shocked

I open up the dvd drive and saw the chips and resistors... i find the tutorial to work on it.. but, i will not try this becouse i dont have a good pratice with the solder iron... today i gave my box to a experienced store.. they can deal better with this than I...
I apreciated very much your comment! thanks!!

Don't pay for it if you can do it yourself...

Ther forums have step-by-step posts that tell you what to do !!!

You found your way here so you'll probably find yourself a way to mod your Samsung drive Smiley

SST 39VF020 as found in hitatchi 078 is a 3.3v device, unlike the SST 39SF020 which is 5v. Could the fact that the 25 VF 040 device is 5v or of similar nature as the 078?
It seems handy that TS have implemented an 040 as this is ideal for dual bios!
