Is there any chance of recovering from the E64 error message with out a backup FW? I went with the NME360 route for backup purposes only figuring it was safer then flashing the drive well needless to say after installing the chip I got the E64. Even after removing the chip I get this error. I haven' t seen any posts as of yet in regard to being able to recover a drive with out having the DVD Key. I have a Hitachi 47DH drive and have found original firmware on the net however I don't want to chance not being able to recover the Key first before trying to flash the FW. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

it has nothing to do with the flash, you damaged something during installation. check if there's a short or a broken trace or anything.

So chances are I could have the drive repaired or the TSOP placed on another drive. Since I did not attempt to flash the chip. I did not see any actual damage to a trace but I will look again. Thanks
