Sure! We only need to get 2 Xbox 360: 1 for live and 1 for solo I think m$ earnings will rise up anyway (if the FW hack will be realesed to public domain or not...)

Hmm,
I think we're all forgetting something. The PSP and the 360 have one thing in common.... UPDATES DISTRIBUTED ON THE DISKS. I know that one issue of OXM had a mandatory update on the disc. No update, no play. I believe certain games already have this. One of those... If/Then/Else kinda things in the XEX I'm assuming. If Kernel Version < X Then update ELSE Play.

yes but the executables for the psp are unsigned
@Dzgx216: I supposed right about UPDATES DISTRIBUITED ON DISKS Only to PLAY (no live involved) Burnout Revenge (Xbox 360 - PAL - italian version) a mandatory update is required Now my system dashboard reports: D:2.0.2255.0 K:2.0.2255.0 (BK:2.0.1888.0) So no more the kiosk disk is working for me (I've avoided all the updates until now)

Specialist, i know this has probably been asked 1 million times. " Why don't you release this hack? "
I just want to add my 2 cents if i may, i personally couldn't give a $#!t whether you released it or not because it's only a matter of time before someone else figures out what you've done, improves it and releases it to the entire world! Until then i won't be buying a 360, i am a very patient person..
"The team decided not to release a hacked FW. The security details are proof itself. The team advocates hacking, not piracy."
You don't think billy and his mates are making enough money?? im sure copying a few xbox games isn't going to send him broke...
Then again it's your call, congratulation on your findings, months of hard work as you said has given someone else the information they need to do what it takes to really impress the xbox 360 community.
Good luck to all the other people/groups working on hacking the 360!
Cheers!

Your answer is in your question. They advocates hacking and not piracy. Most of the money on each game ain't going to "Billy" as you said. It is going to developers that worked 2 years to develop a game. Why do you think games cost 60$ now? They need to make money to make good games. If they don't have enough money, they rush to release it as fast as possible and you end up with games like Driv3r. If you play games, buy them. These are my 2 cents. smash

I dont actually own a 360 cause im more interested in homebrew stuff (which ever machine gets unlocked first out of ps3 and 360 ill get) but i think the games are so expensive because they expect piracy... so in a way i dont care if the hack is realeased cause in my opinion M$ already acounts for this kind of thing and the developers need to get in quick if they want to make a killing..but late games still do good. even with full on console chips released the delopers still make a nice packet...obviously the less they make the crapper the games will be but i dont think it affects them as bad as people make out... before the xbox got hacked I hadnt owned a console for about 5 years but i got the xbox and ended up buying about 7 games, which isnt alot...but its 7 more than i would of bought..
anyway...not sure what to do now...should i watch a divx on my xbox or get my amiga out the loft with its 17000 games :p if todays programmers thought like the amiga programmers did we could fit a few 360 games on a cdr..hehe chippy game music rules..bring back group intros...call our board at +686 blaa blaa they were the days.. (sheds a tear..lol)

Just wondering if Microsoft has released any Statement about the XBOX360 FW Hack?! like in the Xbox Dev Blog or somewhere? I think they *really* afraid of the hacking progress...

i have a question - why aren't you lot who have done it, helping Xecturer. if you are apologiers, but from recent posts - he hasn't completely understand how TS has done it.
Surely, without giving him FW help, as im sure it wasn't a solo effort.

Everyone can join the discussion in the technical hacking forums on this site. Best place to discuss these matters because that's were it all started.

Just wondering if Microsoft has released any Statement about the XBOX360 FW Hack?! like in the Xbox Dev Blog or somewhere? I think they *really* afraid of the hacking progress... The core security system has not been broken. However, it is reported that the authentication protocol between the optical disc drive and the console may be attacked, which if accurate could allow people to play illegally copied games. Our security team is aware of this and we are investigating potential solutions to this issue. The Xbox 360 platform was designed to be updated, and we are prepared to respond appropriately should any unauthorized activity be identified. Everyone should keep in mind that Microsoft invests a great deal of time and effort to ensure that Xbox gamers enjoy the most powerful and exhilarating game experience available today. Genuine and unmodified Microsoft Xbox products provide gamers with the reliability, security, support and dynamic gaming experience that they expect. Microsoft works with a large group of legitimate business partners to sell and service genuine Microsoft Xbox products. Microsoft does not authorize or support any products or companies that modify or change the Xbox console in any way.

Big scarry words from Bill and his mates.... Apols if this has already been said but just look at the PSP, they hack a firmware, it then gets updated when you buy a new game....no update no game. How long do you think it will take for Microsoft to do exactly the same as Sony and then we are straight back to square one...... Unless I am sadly mistaken, this is not the fantastic breakthrough that everyone is tripping over themselves to kiss ass of the hackers. What is needed is a mod or something which Microsoft cant just bypass with its next firmware release.... Any news on that front. PS we all know that most people reading this are intrested in the illigal backups...less of this "Were hackers not pirates" rubbish. Peace!

all mods can be bypassed/detected by a firmware update, it will forever be a cat and mouse game. remember xbox 1, where all modded boxes get auto-banned from live.

@Tony_Jaa if u have a toshiba/samsung drive (like me) then u have (yet) noc chance to hack it... Greets ChaosBoy I know that a very reliable source is working on this, and called it for 99,99% sure that almost the same hack will be implemented on the Toshiba/Samsung FW. And bet your ass when the hack is released, the automatic updater will work on both.
