Stealth FW+Media

Does anyone have the slightest inkling on whether this is even possible on the Hitachi or are we all grabbing at straws?

They thought it wasn't possible for the Sammy drive and it was done. GaryOPA is hard at work on the issue, we all just have to wait a little while.

I'm sure he is  But what do you mean "They thought it wasn't possible for the Sammy"? The Sammy only has stealth media?

From what I understand, the sammy has both media and fw stealth with the new Commadore4eva Xtreme 4.1A and 4.1 B. It has something called firmgaurd which is supposed to be "impregnable". I read that some people have even tested on live with no problems even with the new live updates. I have a Hitachi myself and I would get the sammy instead, but I have a laptop and I use the Xecuter usb...no external sata ports

Oh I gotcha. But unfortunately that isn't strictly true. True stealth FW is "100% firmware stealth (appears like 100% original when you dump it) including the CHECKSUM !!!". 4.1 simply stops the firmware from being read altogether. So if the Xbox can see you have a Sammy and can't take a mem dump, instant detection method.

This is why i'm trying to find out whether the Hitachi has the potential to use stealth media. Because if it can, I'd get that instead of a Sammy. But if it can't, the Sammy's probably the safer bet.

Only another week before I can afford my Xbox! Must find out by then

It would seem people are shying away from this subject... I havn't been able to find any discussions based on the Hitachi being capable of both so come on people! Lets get our fingers dirty 

We have a definitive answer on the the Samsung, we know it's uncapable of stealth firmware. But have no definitive answer on the Hitachi... Is the architecture on the Hitachi capable of holding both?

The whole stealth firmware and media thing has me totally conused.

For instance, i backed up a disk, and then ran a stealth check on it through xbox backup creator and it said it was not stealthy, how od i make it stealthy?

I thouhgt to make it stealthy was to patch the ss, which ihave allready done, so it doesnt make sense.

Evidently you either need to study a whole lot more, or the variety of things involved in this are not simple enough for you to understand.
