1280x720 would be the native resolution of the 360.

I use 720p on my projector. I looks "smoother" than 1080p. I'm not sure you feel the same way, a friend of mine (he uses the same projector), run at 1080p, and say he cant see any difference.

Have a look, if you cant see a difference, then the one can't be any better Smiley It's not always abouts specs, but the eye that watch, or the ear that listens.

720p should look better then 1080i since the conversion to 1080i reduces the video quality. 1080p is not much supported yet as it's hardware is still very expensive and the bandwith/datastream consumes like double the 720p's

1920x1080 (i or p) will generalyl look better on the right hardware. You would be hard pushed to find any LCD or plasma TV under 45" (and £4k) that is capable of 1080. Most will be 1366x768 (essentially 1280x720, for the sake of argument). If a game supports 720p and 1080i, and your TV is a 720p, then use 720p mode.

1080i is, in any case, generally intended for watching films due to its refresh rate being limited to 24fps. 720p can be 60fps, which is best for fast-action games (and watching sports programmes).

the closer it is to the native resolution of the LCD, the better. anything else means scaling, and scaling always results in quality loss. in your case, a VGA cable would be best, since you can set the 360 to 1366x768 in VGA mode.

Thx mate.

About to buy a VGA cable, but was just wondering, once ive got the cable, how do i select 1366x768 Huh?

Also, is it worth spending the extra cash on an OFIICIAL Microsoft VGA Cable or will a ebay cheaper job do just the same?
if its a digital signal will it matter?

Cheers in advance
