Hey, im trying to get this new hitachi in my xbox, but I can't find my slax cd. I have the first one released..but that didnt work. I found one here that had something extra(dont remember what it was) but that one worked flawlessly. However, all the topics leading to it dont exist anymore does anyone have a link to this slax?

This link is taken from the file "HitachiSamsungTutorialV41Merged.pdf" which says it's the specially modded version for getting the hitachi drive into modeb. Have you got this PDF file? If not I can post it.

I had a few problems using the CD. I thoughtI followed the Slax method as detailed in the above mentioned PDF, but what I didn't do was press the reset button. I pressed the power off button which gracefully shuts the machine down.... When I actually pressed the reset button (i.e. instant off) everything worked for me as expected... XP booted up fast, instead of the stuttering fashing when it doesn't work.
Do you use the reset button or the power button?

Sorry just trying to be helpful.
This is the version that worked for me... and I'm assuming for many others.
I have not found any other version.
Good luck getting it sorted, as it appears I am not able to offer you anything you don't already know.

I've never heard of more than one version of the Slax CD. The one linked in the pdf (rapidshare) works just fine for me.

I just found out that the link to the live-cd.iso has been deleted by rapidshare.de; I know that uberfry has put an image on his homepage (I currently dont have the link anymore ) BUT: I am currently working on a slax2.0 which has some native sata support in it; The new slax will be based on the kernel 2.6.18 which has a GREATLY improved sata subsystem which makes changes to it MUCH easier; the new slax will take 3-4 more days since I am very busy in my job ...
