swapping my Samsung drive for a Hitachi

Im getting ready to switch out my ms28 drive for a older Hitachi 47.  Just want to make sure I got all my steps down correct.

1. Flash the new Hitachi with hacked firmare
2. dump the hacked firmware
3. Using toolbox insert the key from the samsung into the new Hitachi.
4. generate encrypted file
5. flash the Hitachi again at the command prompt using this command. "
47flash e orignew-e.bin 90004000 1000"

Does that sound right?  Thanks.

yeap (i dunno about the command) but you can do it a $#!tload easier...make your hacked firmware and insert the key into it (do whatever spoof you need if need be) then use fw toolbox to flash it instead...once you have the drive hooked up you can go Tools> Direct Drive Flash> Differential Flash ... and following all the prompts etc...much easier

Thanks for the reply.  That does sound alot easier.  One question, I don't need to spoof it if Im not going to use xbox live do I?  If I remember correctly you just need to insert the key from the original drive to get it working with the new xbox.

You DO need to spoof the drive (regardless of if you want to go on XBL) but only if the drive your putting into your 360 is different than the origional drive you had in there
