Got this replacement drive from ETECH4SALE.com. I hosed my original, but was able to extract the key. Patched the fw with the old key using  Maximus 360toolbox and wrote back with 47Flash from the 7in1 toolkit . Works fine. Boots Xbox1 Originals and gives the error when using my backups.

Now I cant patch it with any of the new xtreme patchers (birdy, 7in1)

They report firmware 0027 (020AC).

Any way to tame this beast?

Try patching it with a working drive key first, and testing it with originals,
afterthat if it works, email us the WAS.BIN from the backup after running
our current 7in1 package (v2.1) and we will release a firmware for it within
48 hours after your email.

Since your 0027 drive is playing originals, just hook it back up to your PC and put
in in modeB, and once you have a windows drive letter, do the following command:

"memdump E 12200 8 8000 FW27.BIN"

Replacing the E in the above example with the correct drive letter.

Then email us the v27 firmware, and we will make a Xtreme version for you within 48 hours.

Hopefully you can do it today, so we can include it in our next release due out shortly, along
with the new Hitachi "lockdown" v78 system.

email sent.

Tried to patch with old key and it wont play 360 originals, but plays xbox 1 orginals (halo2) fine.

KDX 1.5 reports that the was.bin file is encrypted. The place where the key is is all "F"s

Hope you can crack it.
