Is there an alternative DVD Drive?

I was wondering, if there was an alternative DVD Drive, that could be used in the 360?
i was thinking, if you got your original firmware from the your, drive then flash say the SH-D162C with it. Use a IDE-SATA converter etc, would it work in the 360?
If alternative drive could be used, then u could run both drives on the 360, one with the hacked firmware, and keep the original drive with the original firmware, and have some sort of switch..

Only microsoft approved xbox dvd drives will work in the console.  You can buy a replacement and put you key into its firmware, but you can only have one connected at a time.

Until a full xbox 1 style modchip comes out anyway.

I see 2 candidate as dvd replacement, Liteon SHD-16S1S-05 and probably Samsung SH-D163A, but i have only pics of liteon and samsung one will arrive at my home next days, so i have only hope ATM.
