Hi to everyone!

Much praise to the masters on here!

Have used the GaryOPA 2.1 a few times and has been spot on!
Only, flashed a 47d and first game to test was PREY so run the update!
After that no discs could be read and claimed all were dirty or damaged???
I know the discs work, and could be a duff drive maybe but is a new console?

Other changes usually i do most my work from my main pc, but used my little barebone with via raid chipset!
Everything went just fine and still have my backup file of course! But now after running the restore.bat
everytime i put a disc in it automatically goes to the media player and wont read as a game disc?Huh

Any answers or anyone with same prob???

GaryOPA if you're around some help would be lovely?

It has nothing to do with PREY, get a pioneer burner !!

No other options, sorry.

I had this problem myself, it really seems those 47D drives only reads verbs burned with pioneer.

Hi Pringle!

Burnt on a pioneer 111d!

and also using Verbs, Datawrite and many others that dont read??

Its a brand spanking new console and have done quite a few before!

It only stopped reading after PREY did an update???
REALLY ODD! is the 2.1 the latest and recommended for hitatchi's?
i've been doing mainly sammy's after me and you being the 1st ones ever to do ms28's!

but (sigh) no guarantee's whats inside eh!

Thinx M$ is Getting Smart with our firmware hacking.

Could these updates be accessing ODD firmware? remember the kiosk disk? that worked fine until an "update".

Smells very much Like the ongoing $ony PSP firmware, attack and defend sinareo Sad

Well I honestly feel like something is odd!

We have done many sammy's ms28's and ms25's! even released one of the 1st sketchy tutorials to help out!
Done quite a few hitatchi's using birdy flasher, now garyopa 2.1 but this recent console has madded us???

Used garyopa 2.1 which reported 100%, Xbox booted up fine and clearly injected correct key as no red lights and
took me to the dashboard no probs! First disc in was Prey, it loaded upto the update screenl and performed perfectly, then rebooted as normal!

Every disc now and i mean EVERY disc verb or any other, goes to a black screen like its loading, then disc is dirty or damaged?
I really do believe there is something different about this 47d maybe?Huh Timing is too precise when we run the update and now
it doesn't read anything?? Think i'm going to put back the original firmware and start again but

A)  Is there anyway to remove the updates or a reflash solves?
B)  Has anyone had this problem before and now cant play any media on hitatchi drive???
C)  Is there any new releases of 47d drives that are different in someway like how we have seen the ms28's appear?
D)  Little bit afraid to use garyopa 2.1 even though its worked great before and should i revert back to 1.2 on this console?
E)  Wtf?Huh why do MS use cheaply made hitatchi no good pieces of "£%$% ??
F)  Anyone doubting this has happened like i say DONT! it DID! just trying to figure out why???

Sammy's rule! clearly better quality all round!

P.s Sony PSP is kinda wide open no?? can run any firmware and just about any game!
lets hope we stay in power as much as psp owners do! Only real nightmare for 360 is media!
half work on some consoles and other half dont?? dual layer as a whole seems fairly unreliable to me!
Even using new pioneer 111d drives, and new packs of Verbatim discs?? Saying that my sammy is solid as a rock!

(A)Updates to the console cannot be undone

(B)Dunno

(C)No there is not, if you have a different version/Rev.  the drive would stay in a flashing loop because after the FW update the
flasher dumps the FW again to check with what is expected to dump, if it says 100% ok then it's 100% OK!!
Thnx to Gary for pointing/solving the flash loop problem i had with my V59

(D)Reverting probably makes it even worse, since you have a 47, and the media detect patch is for that drive !!

(E)M$ can't rely on one supplier, due too costs.Xboxes go on production lines, every line has his own package that will be assembled.
EG in Hungary they use Hitachi drives in their assembly lines, in Poland they use Samsung's...

We used slax for mode b!

But using a different pc to normal with a via chipset? would this have a bearing??
Now since this has happened the sata/raid has stopped working and is exclamated in windows device manager??
Tried reinstalling drivers etc, but no difference??? Everything did however go fine during the flash.
sure somebody here will know something!

look forward to some input!

Well, if it was a PREY update then have you tried doing the clear cache function?

I had GaryOPA 1.2 and tried Prey. After seeing I needed to update I restored my firmware to the original, did the Prey update and then reflashed with GayOPA 2.1. My system has worked flawlessly since, reading backups made with Verbatim discs and Pioneer 111d drive. My drive is the Hitachi 46 though, perhaps your problem lies there.

Had a brief read, sorry if this has already been posted. But if M$ were (even though I know it can't be done) possible to reflash your drive via the Prey upgrade disc surely you could just reflash your drive again and the backups will work.

So if you still believe that 360 games flash or render hacked firmware useless then try a reflash. Expects: this should be fine shouldn't it? (then again most expects here will state that it's NOT POSSIBLE for M$ to render hacked firmware)

Of cause check your media and make sure it's burnt correctly, as so far i've heard of not one case of games rendering hacked firmware not useable.

Oh yes updates can be undone. There is a system function for that but I forgot the combination of buttons. Look it up at the internet. It will undo all updates/patches, it's other then the cache clear function

hi there i have had my pionnerfor 2 months with origina pionner FW installed on it.
i have burned over 20 games with no problems all working fine until yesterday when i burned 3 games and NONE of the worked. ( all burnt 100% successful it said)
after that i did not now what was wrong... then i rememberd that i burned the 20 games before i installed new ram memory on my computer... so the problem must have came from my computer and not my 360!! so i went into my bios and loaded default settings and went into windows and tried to burn the 3 games again and the all WORKED!!!!

maybe this can help u... you can atleast try it and let me know

looks like burning is sensetive to some computer overclocking.. Smiley

Kernel/Dashboard updates can't be undone this way.
