Ripped 8 games now with 0.80FW on the 162c and with Schtrom360Xtract V2.1

Burned all with clonecd on my pioneer 111d

All games work perfect Cheesy \0/ (ThX Kreon and Schtrom for you apps Wink  ) (Got a Hitatchi drive in my x360)

The only game that took 6h:32m to rip was Blazing Angels :/

But after burning it worked, so no complain Cheesy

Most other games had a ripping between 16 and 45 minutes

So it was RIP (ignore the ss extraction error) -> Burn -> Play, nothing to inject or whatever.

Anyone know if the ASUS DRW-1608P35 is any good?? i know some of there older drives where pioneer drives but not sure about this one. I also know the Benqs were also a very good drive but how good are these 2 drives at making 360 backups?

I seem to have ran into a snag. I just flashed my drive to the v.80 firmware. It was working fine, but now every dvd I put in the drive windows sees as a cd-rw instead of a dvd including my original 360 disks. Anyone have an idea on that?

Sorry for hte double post, but if I flash it back to the original samsung firmware, it reads dvd's like it's supposed to. I even tried going back to the v.60 and it see's them as cd-r and can't read from the drive if I try to explorer it.

Thanks for any help,

Sadalius

EDIT: Never Mind. I got it. Removed the drive from device manager and rebooted. Should've known to try that first......

Hi,

I'm new to the scene, just wanted to confirm which Samsung SH-D162C this firmware supports.  I see a couple of drives with these names.

1) SH-D162C/BEWP
2) SH-D162C/RSWP
3) SH-D162C/BEBP

Are these all supported?

Is anyone working on a firmware that will allow a regular pc dvd drive to run as a drive replacement for the xbox-360?

Cheers and Thanks

Yes, they will all work with the FW. The last four letters describe the color of the front plate and if it's OEM or retail.

Hi Im using the Aladdin2 MOD360 CHIP is there anything i need to know or anything when making backups? I beleive its just a clone of the Team underdog chip!! Do most people on here just flash there 360 drives?  Also with the extreme images whats there difference between 2 and 3? I mean whats the advantage of 3 over 2 in backing games up? will they both work on all games? Thanks Ive ripping using a SH-D162C hence why its in this subject

Im having a problem with Schtrom360 it says when i try doing a extreme image 3.0 that it cant extract the ss code and after i select it latter comes up with another error and stops also after i close the program and go into it. It dosent pick it up as a 360 disc anymore and when i use exployer it says I/O deivice error whats up with that? as soon as i reboot it will be fine!! Is this some type of bug with the firmware as a effect of it the hack that has to be there? cant wait when a new version of the new ripping program that has just been released supports this version 0.80 of the firmware. Anyway anyone got any ideas on both things?

I just went to my local PC shop that stocked Samsung drive and brought one. It was only $49 AUS. So much easier to extract the SS this way. Just extracted Saints Row and works perfectly. I used Drive Tools 1.2.0005 for the extracting of the SS, PFI and DMI (though I haven't tested the PFI and DMI as yet).

Thanks Kreon it works a treat.

There is a problem when extracting the ss from XBOX1 games using the SH-D162C flashed with the 0.8 firmware.

To fix it, edit the ss.bin and zero out bytes 0200 - 02D0 (excluding byte 02D0 but including 0200).  Merge back into the image then burn.  I have made a couple of successful XBOX1 backups using the SH-D162C with thiis method.

Hopefully Kreon will fix the issue in the next version.

Yes, unfortunately you're right about that, and yes... I do expect to release a fix for that within a few days. As I wrote in the info file, the 0.80 release was never actually tested with xbox1 games. I now have a xbox1 game for testing, so this will not be an issue for my next release  Wink

While waiting for the next release, the fix described should work just fine.

Hallo Guys!

I`ve got a Samsung SH-D162C with the newest 0.8 firmware. I ripped the game Rumble Roses XX with Schrom 2.1 and ignored the message "ss.bin extraction......." and got 2 files. a file with the ending .dvd with a size of ~ 7.05 GB and renamed this file to game.iso and burned this file with CloneCD on verbatim cdr`s.
When i insert the cdr in my xbox 360 (flashed with extreme firmware and a hitachi inside) the cdr loads, black screen, then a message appears "Put this media in a xbox 360 console to start" HuhHuhHuh?

Anyone an idea?

Thanks!

1: you shouldn't have renamed the file
2: you don't have to open the iso with clonecd, but you need the index file. This file containt the layerbreak offset, wich needs to be set (pased on to clonecd).
As this index file then loads the iso, see '1'.
