does your tool take into account the variable position of the key in the TS-943A?

Yes, also interested about the variable positions, but also, does this key need to be de- or encypted before being written back or does it take care of that automatically? (I'm thinking its automatic but wanted to make sure)

i've examined the program, but have no FW to test with....(pm me if you have one i can use) ..... the initial screen had no indication of a key location variable.

Not yet, it's the reason for only support MN25 firmware. In next release, the variable position will be supported.

thanks for the quick responce scener, you're a great developer and I'm impressed that you reply to the questions asked (rather than ignore 99% of them like our friend commodore4eva)

I think MN25 is a typo. I thought it was MS25. I have made dumps of 3 orginal ms25 TS firmwares and the key was located in a different place in each of them. So do you mean to say it only works with the public dump of ms25?

Just trying to get the information strait. i don't think i will really use the tool(I'll just hexedit it in). I just see problems in the future if someone software dumps their TS-H943A and then uses your tool to extract what they think is their key but in fact isn't.

thanks for contributing a usefull tool to the scene

@BlueCop

You seem to be the most knowlegable as far as FW's and their revision, do you think you could maybe organize all the numbers and info for each of the drives and revisions. I think it would be a big help to all of us.

Thanks BlueCop, I will fix a thing. Now, the software read the key directly. I will repeat the soft not for reading but searching the key in a range of offsets (if that offset=FF then offset+1 until offset!=FF), you know.

It can be used for replacement drives or if you wish to trade drives between 2 360s.

Think of this tool seperatly from a hacked firmware. It is mainly for key management to swap, replace or update your drive.

Yes, for Hitachi-LG the tool works perfect. For Samsung we have to think about the variable key, so for Samsung now it's unsafe.
