MTKFLASH only shows 2 ide drivers no sata drive

I'm on the following specs

K8Vse Deluxe mobo (via chipset)
1024mb ram
300gig hd
9700pro 128mb
Audigy 2
xbox 360 with hdd, Toshiba Samsung H943

I've made a boot cd in nero 7 and added the mtkflash utility to it. I've made another parition on my hd in fat32 with mtkflash on it also. I've not unplugged all the drives as I need some.

I load into dos fine then when I turn on the xbox the greenlights flash and the red light in the centre flashes, i run mtkflash and it just gives me the options for "sec ide  master" and "sec ide slave" which i assume is my 2 dvd drives on ide. Why does the dvd drive not show? I've spent absolutley ages on this changing settings and trying different mtkflash commands nothing seems to work.

Ok I know i'm answering my own question, I hadn't enabled my promise drivers in bios.
So i run mktflash and it doesn't go to a screen with drive selection like previously but just says this.
I'm on ms25 so i should be able to flash it right?

so you press esc and it says status = 51 should be 70, and the lights are red with a green one in the centre sorry made a mistake before.

Guys i could really do with some help over here, ok so i've checked my drivers everything is installed correctly, i've got a sata hd which worked fine, so i take out all my sata connections i don't even attach the 360 drive to the sata and I run mtkflash and it still comes up with the same error port 170 master/slave 0b wtf does this $#!t mean. It occures regardless of the xbox. WHY can i not access the xbox i've checkedd so many posts now and it seems that k8t800 chipset works fine, but i can't seem to access it?

So i've pretty much done nothing but open my xbox, remove all my drives, and boot with a boot cd made in nero to dos, and tried to run mtkflash. I've spent about 10hours on this crap today and i'm at the end of the line!

P.S ok so i've not connected my sata disk to sata port 1, and it says in the sata boot loader no array tables installed, no bios installed press (g) to continue. Load of rubbish since if i stick my 250gig maxtor in the raid 1 port it works fine on its own. It won't show in windows on sata 1, so when i stick it back to its original raid 1 port it works fine. I only have 1 sata disk and its not raided this just seems to be the only way. May be this is the problem?

What version Sammy do you have?  MS25 or MS28?

i'm on the ms 25, but i don't even get as far as connecting the dvd drive to the pc, it makes no difference mtkflash still says port 170 0b and without giving me any selection menu then i have to quit with esc

I can't unpliug everything else since i've got no floppy drive i've used a boot cd. So i need to write the backup.bin somewhere so i have to have in my c:\ drive
sicne it is partitioned into 2 disks one ntsc and one fat 32.

Ok i edited mktflash, but i have a feeling its something to do with my drivers or something since it makes no odds what i do, i get port 170 0b all the time no selection menu nothing. Ok so now i'm on a mission just to get my sata disk working on sata 1 instead of raid 1, it is recognised in sata boot loader and in bios but not in windows. Winxp fastrack promise driver (tm) failed to initialise device. This seems to be the problem but even with teh mobo drivers i can't get it working.

p.s lol asus sux, they might as well send there trouble shooting in the bin, unless you have a pda lol. I think my xbox 360 might just never get closed up lol

there are no drivers involved AT ALL, since you are in dos. if you aren't in dos, you didn't read the instructions.

look i am in dos, with the boot cd. But it still doesn't do anything at all. MTKFLASH will only say port 170 ob and nothing else it doesn't let me choose any options. I've edited it with the hex editor. No idea what to do, i'm on via k8T800 chipset, i've tried
mtkflash r /sata orig.bin
mtkflash r /m orig.bin
mtkflash r /sata /m orig.bin

i'm using a dos boot cd made in nero 7. I have one fat 32 drive as well to save the images on to, and which contains my hexedited mtkflash. I get the same error as before i hex edited it. And my firmware is m25 so it should be possible? Do i have to put the xbox dvd drive in 0800 mode first or not?

then you most likely didn't hexedit it right. you couldn't possibly flash it with 0800 firmware since you can't flash at all right now, there's no "0800" mode.

I have a fw 25 too and when I type mtkflash r /sata orig.bin it brings up no drives detected I just have the sata foe the xbox  and a benq burner hooked up
can anyone help me
