http://warmcat.com/milksop/cheapLPC.html

has anyone tried this? if so what are the results, i might make one of these for my dual firmware mod for xbox360, i just want to know if anyone else has tried it first Smiley

also, im wondering if thre would be a way instead of having a switch to change firmwares, would i be able to choose the firmwares by powering on via the power button or eject button(eg power button = hacked eject = orginal)

thanks for any help

CheapLPC won't work as it's not the same way that it's being programmed
The other thing, powering by using eject or power is also prossible...all you need is a regular RS-flipflop with the outputs connected to each xCE pin

whats a regular rs-flipflop? i googled around and couldnt find what i think i was looking for, maybe you could post the datasheet for me or show me a link, with the rs-flipflop is it possible for even if you hold the power button in it will load up orginal and if u just tap it it will load hacked. thanks for your help uberfry, u always seem to be in the know Smiley

edit::

im justwondering, what do you mean about the cheaplpc wont work becuse the way it gets programmed, i would of thought if it writes to the chip then thts it?, i have the exact same sst chip that the website says it will only work on. see i was going to have a pcb at the back of my 360 with a modeb switch + external sata socket so i can rip games etc without the need to open my 360, if i was able to use that cheaplpc programmer i could make a connection at the back were im going to have the sata and modeb switch to flash the drive without the need to open my 360

edit2:

http://www.datasheetarchive.com/semiconductors/specsheet.php?specsheet=124953

found this, the website doesnt have the datasheet for it though :/

sorry if I can't explain 100% understandable, but I'll try my best:

an RS-flipflop is a flipflop that can only be set and reset... it has 2 outputs... Q and /Q...
Q is high when S is on high or released from high
/Q is just the inverse... same thing with R... it will reset the Q output and set the /Q output

CheapLPC can only program LPC eproms (lookup low pin count eprom in google...)
rhe eprom used in the drives doesn't support LPC programming

hope you understand what I mean
