Couldn't find a topic where this was discussed before. (just a tought)

Should it be possible to connect the DVD-drive onto the HDD port? Proberly this is a NO, but ya never know.

Might this work, then it is possible connecting a modded drive and play backups without opening the drive.

I don't know if it's possible, but in that case, would't it be easier using the USB port??

USB is a different connection type. Therefore there must be a converter and the xbox must detect it as a DVD drive... don't think that's gonna happen. Thereby M$ also anounced the HD DVD player (an USB device) will not play games. (to bad)

Is there nobody who can confirm the DVD drive will (not) work when connected on the external HDD (SATA!) connector?

it's not that easy, since you will have to find a fitting plug first and solder an adapter. I don't think anyone's gonna bother for $#!t and giggles.
but even if the 360 accepted the drive, it would not accept 2 dvdroms at the same time.

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

Yeah, that's what I tought  Wink  When removing the HDD and the 360 sitecover, it's easy disconnecting the DVD SATA cable from the MB. Just put a small screwdriver through the small holes and pull the connector up  Wink Without opening the box Wink
