you have to build a duallayer image with SS and all. the instructions come with the xtreme firmware actually.

well, in xtreme's package it says you need a raw dump to make it work, but this proves original xbox supported titles work with just a simple iso made with dumped files in your hd,no need to do a 6+gig raw dump, just add the correct ss.bin+blank.iso to your non raw xbox 1 iso.

ofcourse you still need dl media, even if your image.000 ends smaller than 4.5gigs,remember the layerbreak rule.

next test is splinter cell 2 + another supported retrotitle.

Some firmware information might be needed here. To check and see what order the whole authentication process is in.

Like for example, find out if:

All the xbe's are tied to one SS. If so, would you need 2 SS's?

Does the firmware check flags every time an xbe is executed?

How many times does a xbox try to detect and check the signiture.

Stuff like that i would assume would be very key to these tests.  I would think that once the game has been authenticated, that it wouldn't need to check again. Part of the, "microsoft never though we'd get this far" assumption.

When the emulator is started, what kind of checks does it make to verify an allowed game/xbe to play?

Changing the name of the file, does this break any signitures?

I bet, if we can get a game that is not supported by the emulator to run, there will be many glitches available. emulators are known to freeze, and cause bad code execution when a game isn't fully supported. They isolate this by not allowing the xbe to run. Chances are, it will run, but not to spec.

More needs to be learned about the signitures, checks, and the hypervisor.

The splinter cell(xb1) that i use to hacked my xb1 loads in my 360. Unless this is the splintercell you guys are referring to. Has anyone tried the old xb1 trick on the 360? Im sure they have patched the hole, but we can compare the errors.

I was reading about PSUL one of the programs that they used to hack the GameCube. They tricked the gamecube into thinking it was in contact with a real sega server and were able to hack the gamecube that way. possibly, if we can get the Phantasy star online for xbox to run, then this might be possible. The guy i was working with created a PSO server that would get PC,DC,GC and xbox players all in one game. So his serve he wrote was compatible with the XBOX. I might be able to find the server software if i checked around. His Nick was: schthack. a quebec guy from canada, spoke good english and some french if i remember right. try psocheats or psoworld. His name maybe email address would be listed there, and he is the one who cracked sega's encryption algorithm.  Also search: barubary and myria chan. very smart people, barubary was a part developer of CxBx, the worlds only xbox1 emulator that i know of that played comercial games. Im just trying to create doors here. Keep it up! I think we are treading on ground that microsoft didn't forsee.

EDIT: Found this website, I am surprised to see it is still active.

http://www.schtserv.com/

And I just got his email. I'll see what he thinks.

if it doesn't even run a signed, unsupported xbe, what makes you think it runs an unsigned, unsupported xbe?

Just wanted to know if anyone tried it, i know someone got avalaunch to boot on the 360 somehow but i do'nt know how.If people could share their findings with the scene, the homebrew scene would go a lot quicker.Do you think i should patch the xbe, would that help maybe?

that avalaunch was running on a devkit, where the emulator does NOT have a fixed list of xbes it may run, or care for signatures for that matter. on the other hand, that emulator version can not run on retail 360s.
patching an xbe will break the signature.

if some one checks if a supported game with splintercell works or not then we know if if doesnt start that the problem would be the changing of the xbe's title.

i found a game that has a few demo's, the demo's are all called default.xbe so that should not be changed then.
the game is: Oddworld munch's oddysee

that would meen that the signature breaks by renaming the xbe.

you could try to find a game that has demo's on it, that way you dont have to rename.
Oddworld: munch's oddysee is the only game i can think of that has demo's on it witch are called default.xbe
i dont have a modded 360 couse i dont have sata in my computer yet, could someone test this ?

Probably for that very reason. What about fusion frenzy? What other games have demo's.... What about the kiosk disc? They blocked that tho right? PGR3 has a demo on it. uhhh. What is the demo it has.. i forget.

it has to have a default.xbe file to test it so a 360 game will not work, i have been looking at the compat table and i think all the ones with demos are blocked.

i think there is a football game, maddem 06? that has a burnout revenge demo on it... am i wrong?

Fusin frenzy ls listed. And i could have swore that halo1 had a demo on it..

Also, what about ninja gaiden? It has the original ninja gaidens on it somewhere. dunno if they are in xbe form though.

EDIT: Killing 2 birds with one stone, There is a Fusion frenzy demo on Halo 1 which IS listed on the compatibility list Smiley

So, if we cant go from a compatible game to a compatible game, we need to do more reasearch Smiley

i have got halo 1 here and there are no demos on it at all, fusion frenzy has video demos, but no playable demos so no luck on both of those either.here is the compatability list if anyone wants to check http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm
