My Hitachi 47DJ is detected in the BIOS and in windows (Device Manager & My Computer). Accessing the drive via the GUI causes explorer to crash. The event logs are full of 'the device \\scsi\sil3112r has not responded within the timeout period'.

Its a PCI Raid Controller with the sil3112 chipset.

Ive updated the PC bios to no avail? Anyone have any suggestions?

Forgot to say, windows (xp sp1) takes ages to boot also. Running GaryOPA 1.3 just hangs on the 'backing up firmware bit'
