if you dont delete anything on the "E" partition then the game saves will be intact.

If you do a harddrive upgrade then copy the "E" partition before then copy it back after. Most games will work after a hard drive upgrade, but some (such as Forza) are tied to the hard drive serial number and will be reported as corrupt.
