How come reading/flashing of a Hitachi takes ages when the tray is closed.
When i popped it open, the process gained 6000% speed.

Just the tech's please no rumours or thoughts...

Closed tray: 48 Minutes, incl. slax modeB trick
Closed tray: 46 Minutes, incl wire trick

Open tray: 5 Minutes, incl slax modeB trick
Open tray: 6 Minutes, incl wire trick

I know you dont want any thoughts, but I wouldnt mind one, considering it never takes my drive more than 45 seconds to flash.

Xtreme v2.0 for Hitachi has support for SS extraction on all drives.
Only problem left is Windows'64bit support. The GETSS program
by Spectrum4eva does not like Windows 'XP 64bit.

GaryOPA,

Is Xtreme 2.0 going to have the stealth ability like Commodoreva's Xtreme 3.0 that was just released?

GaryOPA, no offence to birdy but the flasher is still a little buggy under certain environments.

I had problems with the "Birdy mode B", but i says that my drive is flashed.
Can I assume that its ok still thou it got error with "Birdy mode B" ??

I have some problems, and only one backup works for me. I have tried 9 other with no luck.

Uses Pioneer 111D and CCD

I have a question about the flash process....the following failed while I was flashing.  It did however say I was 100 complete and everything works perfectly, couldn't be happier.  I used the Xecuter connect kit and a SATA2USB cable.  I have a v47 drive.

Flashing 6/9 sector 90024000 (f900 - Mode B into A)...
failed (can't remember the exact error)

What is this line refering to and any idea why it would have failed??

Thanks!
