GaryOPA - Xtreme v1.3 firmware - Hitachi 7in1 - v32/v36/v40/v46/v47/v58/v59
CURRENT PACKAGE: "XTRM-HITACHI-7IN1-V1_3.RAR" - 07/25/2006 - 998,366bytes
* ALL NEW Xtreme v1.3 firmware for all versions of Hitachi Drives
- Complete fast booting of backups, just like the Samsung drive!
- Thanks to "Geremia" for the answer to "media detect"
- Removed the "Birdy" double-tap EJECT trick (not needed anymore)
- Still in place the "Birdy" Mode B tweak for Windows usage
* EVEN MORE IMPROVED FLASHing
- Fail-Safe flashing system - Almost no chance of BRICKed drives!
* GREATLY IMPROVED RESTORing - Can restore drive with NO BACKUP!
* Birdy is hard at work on the "Security Sector Extraction"
- Birdy has released a test package for the v46 drives
- Many small problems with the GETSS program by "Specturm4eva"
* Update to be released this week for complete Security Sector Reading - After we have tested it fully on the all working Hitachi drives.
GaryOPA ------------
P.S. This is the same as "Geremia" release but we have removed the "Birdy" tray tweak.
* Sorry "Birdy", but thanks to Automan and Geremia, that tray trick is causing problems with some users, and there is no need for it anymore due to the fact the games load up now with no problems.
* Sorry for the delay in releasing packages, but I have some outside problems to take care off, and my brain was dreaming in HEX so it needed a short rest.
* This package has an IMPROVED flashing, almost ZERO chance of BRICKing your drive now!
----------
* No need to restore your drive, this package will update over any version of hacked firmware.
* If the FLASHing program says SAME, it means your drive is already at Xtreme v1.3 so no need to re-flash it.
* If the FLASHing program says PASS, it means it PASS, don't worry if you see a "error" above in the batch text, It just means that sector was already flashed and didn't need updating, or the flash failed after it flash the data.
* If the FLASHing program quits after starting the FLASH, and does not RETRY then it means something is unstable in your system, just shut-down all background programs, and try again or try in safe mode.
* Always make sure you run the batch file from the directory where all the files are. Change to "X-LG" directory first.

I`ve just flashed mine with Birdy`s release and have no problem at all... The only thing I have noticed is that when you eject the game it takes about 5 seconds or so to eject...It doesn`t do it instantly.... Looks like i`ll have to take x360 apart again and flash with Garyopa.... Keep up the good work dudes...

Maybe that is better for your console?

the Xtreme v1.3 firmware is the same as "Birdy" or "Geremia", just with the "Tray Tweak" removed.

After chatting with "Geremia" about his better "media detect" and reading with the Hitachi speed patch thread. I see I make a mistake in the credits in the !README!.TXT, and I have now updated the credits and removed "Automan" name from the list.
I am sorry "Automan" but it reading the notes by "Geremia" he did this completely on his own, and this hack has nothing to do with the speed the Hitachi reads the sectors from the disc.
I am sorry "Geremia" for the mistake, and it will not happen again.
My HAT off to "Geremia" for his fast learning skills on Assembly and it usage in firmware hacking. All Hitachi owners need to thank him.

Just wanna to confirm this v1.3 works beautifully. 9/9 steps succeeded in the very first try from v1.0 on 46dh. Thanks a mill, GaryOPA.

Good work GaryOPA and Geremia for the fix.
Side note: I edited your first to post to only include Geremia and also deleted those useless posts by pescasat.

Superp job! However, IMO Automan open the way for this research be it speed problem or not. This is like a butterfly effect: a butterfly wing flap in China may cause a large storm in New England.

Thanks Gary!
I just got into this late last week, but I have researched a lot the past several days.
I now have a 111D with DB fw 1.23, CloneCD, Verbatim DL media etc., a POT tweaked to 2.92 - I have a 47DJ). 1) Perhaps the pot tweak isn't necessary when using a 111D with Verbatim media and CCD? I read that the 47DJ is one of the worst... Anyone have a 47DJ without POT tweak?
2) Anyway, I flashed my drive yesterday with GaryOPA 1.2fix, but I just saw this post about the brand new that includes Xtreme v1.3
Do I need to restore my Hitachi's original firmware (via restore.bat with the binary backup file) first OR can I simply flash this GaryOPA v1.3 right on top of GaryOPA v1.2? I saw a note that Birdy's can be flashed over the current firmware, which is why I am asking, since I didn't see a note about whether the same is possible with GaryOPA. Sorry if this has already been answered and I missed it.
3) Does this fast booting mean the POT tweak is needed less than before; sorry for the newb question.
Great work and thanks again!

Yep, you can flash right over any current firmware, no matter the version before.
With this patch, thanks to Geremia, you don't need any more tricks to boot games and no more pot tweaks. All games load in under 10 seconds.
