Ok, I'm confused as all H$ll... I have a 47 and my friend has a 46, both patched using the previous version of Birdy Flasher, what do I have to do to both of ours to get the Geremia patch applied to them?
just run the birdy flasher and select firmware extreme 2.0 as its already patched and ready to go as long as it list your hitachi revison 46 or 47 ect,ect you should be good to go, thats all i did, didn't have to load patch or ppf anything, beforehand i had to use eject trick or av trick or controller trick. Now all i do is put game in and it loads 1st time. (hitachi 46dh)

1.Restore your orig firmware to your dvd rom
Mcmanic said that you do not have to restore your original firmware to upgrade to the firmware w/ the Geremia patch He has verified this works... Have you upgraded to the firmware w/ the Geremia patch yet DJXXX?

I've never flashed my drive and have been reading and reading and reading trying to get all my facts straight. Where I'm confused is with this Birdy Flasher.. Is this as simple as it seems ? Does this application automatically extract your drive key, patch it to the firmware and then write it all ? Or is there still some prep work required prior to using this ? I'm asking this because modding your drive's firmware has evolved sooo much since it was 1st made available and most of the step by steps include using DOS, having to dump your drive key and patch firmware. I haven't seen a step by step for someone who has never modified their firmware yet and wants to use Birdy Flasher to do so.. A quick tutorial for someone who is preparing to flash their drive for the 1st time using Birdy Flasher would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Nice job, it works on V46 with Xtreme 1.2 upgraded. Backups load just as fast as original now. No tricks watsoever. Tried Verbatim, Memorex, and Fuji. All loaded with no tricks. Using Poineer 111D though.

Did you restore your original firmware first or just flash over it with the new?

Did you restore your original firmware first or just flash over it with the new? Just patch straight from GARYOPA XTREME v1.2 to v2.0 but you will need patch.scp file. The download provided here doesn't have it. Got it from private sites.

Wow !! thanks for the quick response !! I have the executer Drive connectivity kit so Mode B is just a matter of pressing a button. What about that SCPcreator.exe ? Also what about patch.scp and restore.scp ? Does anything need to be done with these files prior to running flasher.exe ? A quick tutorial for someone who is preparing to flash their drive for the 1st time using Birdy Flasher would be greatly appreciated.

BIRDY_HITACHI is flasher.exe. The program makes an automatic backup of your original firmware and provides an option to restore it if you wish!
