i used the auto flasher to flash my drive, but it messed up backin up the original , when opened with kdx its all ffs for the orig.bin and orig.bak , and when i plugged it back in i get error 65 , any thing i can do ? any help much appreciated

If you lost your original key... there is nothing to do if I am not mistaken.

actually there is something he can do.. its called a "quickie" at walmart..

yep. no key = dead xbox. it will never accept a drive again (unless the system is hacked one day, but don't hold your breath).

It is a major problem with the released "AUTO-FLASHER"

I have many machine here in my shop, due to users using the "AUTO-FLASHER".

I find it backups the firmware, does not report an error and it is all >FF's and then
patches the all >FF's version and writes it without telling the user there is a
problem.

I am starting to think it is time to release our own in-house "auto-flasher" we
did for the Toshiba/Samsung drives along with our next release for the Hitachi.

I am getting tried of sending users bricking their drives due to bad tools.

It is one thing when the user is a "newbie" but it is even worse when the
tool designed for "newbie"'s is at fault or at least not fail-safe.
