ok here i go.... The connectivity kit fried when i was booting(with the mode button down)((on a hitachi-LG 46dh, puter chipset ICH7)), i put it the right way in but not enough in, eager as i was (in to the dvd-rom). And i repaired the circuit that fried (i hope, not an expert at this but the repair seemed logical enough following the circuit)... After the repair the connectivity kit seemed to be working ok, so i tried to restore but no use (using hotswapping this time, with power from the connectivity kit since my puter wouldnt boot properly with the Hitachi_LG connected)... I can dump the firmware but i cant write anything to the mobo (also the eject button wont work). This was of course my friends ****** drive. When trying to flash i get a error that i of course cant remember atm..... something IO... cant stop disc, cant read common sense etc etc ..... lol ill try more with the damn drive later today so ill update with the correct error message....( sorry for my Viking english and my bad breath i managed to make last night...... Larsen VSOP! and ofc smirnoff and coffee (karsk geet!!!)  Over and out! Any help/tips whatever appreciated! ( i dont know if this is the right place to post all this but hell move me to the north pole if you like....forgot whatever else i was about to write....) Burns welcome. -...- hah

So... do you have an actual question? or did you fail to make a good story?
This whole post is not easy to understand if you do not use any "ENTERS" and use the "! or . sign properly".

I'm not laughing at you... English is not my native language either but it is just very, very hard to read your above post if you do not use the ENTER key etc. So what is your current status, what is broken and what is not?

Ok, sorry will try to make it better.

I have no idea what is broken.

I get a DeviceIOControl ... Failed to stop disc. (or something like that, ill post exact message later when my friend comes over) error message at each point every time i try to flash and restore. The eject button wont work, well it works but it wont open my dvd-rom. Box gets powered on when i push it.

Dumping firmware is no problem, reading from firmware with KDX is no problem.

Am i just stupid and missing something now?

Just to make sure:
I asume you have an Hitachi drive right?
Does the drive itself still function properly in the x360?

And you are trying to reflash your drive with the extreme firmware while your drive is through the kit by the pc and connected to the PC S-ATA device?

Yeah, i have a hitachi 46dh.

Hard to find out if it is functioning properly when i cant eject.  i havent tried ejecting form the dashboard though.

I use the Xtreme 7in1 from Garyopa (tried the one from birdy and the v.1.1). Flashing/restoring my own drive worked almost perfect, got the deviceIOcontrol error on one point but the flasher said it was 100%, currently playing a backup on that one now.

I didnt use the ODD adaptor on my own drive i just powered it with the xbox, also tried that with my friends drive.

Yes it's bricked i've done exactly the same with one of the drives i've done. From what i've been told one of the drives controller chip's has blown - when the power spiked on blowing the connector kit. At the moment these chips aren't available to buy, but when they become available the drive should be fixable.

Sounds bad.

Where can i get a replacement drive? Samsung Hitachi whatever...

I have tried to search a bit, but havent found anything yet.

hmm, i dont think the kit was connected to the drive at all when it blew the connector was in, but i dont think it was enough in to make any contact with the pins, but after my repair of the kit i connected it properly, modeb were working but my puter wouldnt boot properly with it. so i left both buttons up and used the hotswap method to get it in modeb when i was in windows.
