Author Topic: [Friend of mine] got his Hitachi bricked with E64 [device failed and turned off!  (Read 2720 times)

He got the "device failed" message in some sectors and just turned the console off instead of just using the command again until its done like you are supposed to do

So the drive now doesnt eject anymore

anyone got any solutions for this that does not involve desoldering the SST and reproggraming it again?

I have the exact same problem with my hitachi 47d. Error E64, drive not Ejecting. Also cant get it to mode b detected by pc.... Sad

there are enough programmer circuits on the net...they're not hard/expensive to build Smiley

the tray not ejecting it might a fw problem only or it is a dvd motor problem ( i havent crossed points 0 and 8 by the way).

I'm doing them from all over the place and still charge the same... it would be the postage costs to me that will be different for each customer

i have the exact same too  E64 error and tray will not fooking eject.   the annoying thing is mine was working with old firmware hack and i tried to do the so called unbrickable v1.2 hack. but what happens it gets bricked, incredibly pi**ed off at that.   Stusy im in uk how much u charge to fix please?
