the problem im seeing all the time is people that got device failed in one of the sectors and they just TURN OFF THE DANW THING!!!!

Just keep doing the flahs.bat drive command until its done on all the sectors... is really THAT hard?

@pacote-san.. Whos Really bitching here?

anyway, the first flash failed.. i got the error i posted on page 1 of this thread for every sector
I will be retrying (what other choice do i have at this point) until i get it.
FYI -im running on a fresh install of Server2003. I used this same computer to flash other hitachis (previous versions of fw)
      with no problem..
The only problem i can see thus far is the power going out here, as its raining

Was it the same install of "Server 2003" before?

I had fails on my motherboard during flashing, until I updated to the "Via Arena" drivers for my chipset,
instead of using the ones which came from "MS".

If all the Flashes fail, not one of them goes thru, then it is safe to shut-down the system/drive and tried again.

Only if one or two of the flashes fail out of the NOW 7 seven flashes, do you need to need to allow the batch
to keep running until it flashing 100%.

is it normal to take about 2 minutes per sector to flash and say:
DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to stop the disc (sense: 02/04/01)
That error doesn't mean the sector patching failed does it?
Could someone printscreen the comparing that it does after the patching.
I have 46d. My motherboard which hadn't failed me doing anything yet is the Asus P4C800

Im wanting to avoid turning it off at this point

The xtreme 1.2 maybe and i believe that it works ok. The problem is if the mode b works 100% stable..... That feature gave me a bricked 47d.....

I rebooted with a fresh mode b as well, and everything worked this time. Good job

I have a 47. I didn't use Garyopa's release of it though, but I'm sure it's the same.

I have flashed my hitachi 59DJ DVD by xtreme V1.1.

There is an error in first round, but all done successfuly at 2nd round.

And it works.

But I check the orig.000 and orig.bin by "fc /b orig.000 orig.bin", found they were
not identical in binary.

Which orig is the one to restore my unhacked 59DJ firmware?

Thank in advance.

The .bat is simply backing up the current firmware each time it is executed. That's why the batch file now automate backing up multiple dumps. The first dump is the original and the 2nd dump is from the partial flash. Therefore, restoring the failed flash would not be advisable.

The largest numbered orig.xxx is the oldest/original

Thank U.

So, the restore.bat is dangerous for one who have the same situation as mine.

#2: Auto-Retry if FLASHing or RESTORing fails
- so what does this do then if flashing shows failed at "!DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to stop the disc (sense: 02/04/01)"

i thought if flash fails like at a !DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to stop the disc (sense: 02/04/01) error it would keep retrying as per the readme?,

and I had 2 of them errors above and at the end it did a Auto-Verify of firmware FLASH and said 100% complete?.

So i presumed all ok as flash said success and at present
All is workng fine (46dh),

Soi my question is do i have a badly flashed firmware running yet it is working ok on orginals, non orginals and xbox games.

I went from c4eva to this one, i remember i had to run c4eva's about 6 times to get a 100% successful flash on all parts

Hi,
I successfully updated my fw to 1.2 (all 7 flashes set to "done").. The weird thing is that when a game doesn't boot and the dashboard comes up with the "open tray" message, I tap the eject button and the tray ejects anyway.. Is this correct?

you really have to push the eject button 2x quite fast after the message open tray is mentioned ! In a blink of an eye you have to push it !

it works perfectly on the hitachi's I tested : 3x 47dj, 1x 46dh

Not really

check this Cheesy

With this method you can wait as long as you want to push eject the second time
