Font Hack (not tried yet, since no 360, just asking someone 2 do it to check)

I know this is a technical forum and not for speculation, but since im still trying to get my hands on a 360 i want to request someone 2 do the following.

Take the files from the Xbox360 HDD folder

Code:

Partition2\Compatibility\dash\fonts\

and put them into the original Xbox and report what happens.

Take the files from the original Xbox HDD

Code:

c:\fonts\

and put them on the Xbox360 and report what happens.

Then take some exploit fonts and put them in the Xbox360 along with a habibi signed xbe somewhere and see what happens .

I know its probabely not gonna work, but you just need 2 know for sure And i think after someone will post about it here all those kids will stop yelling about it on xs

it can't work, since the 360 doesn't have an xbox 1 dashboard.
in order for the font exploit to work, the original MS dash had to load them at launch.

wel, the fonts will be loaded at one point, y else would they be there? But please, some1 please try this, so this topic can be closed forever!

I examined those font files and they are the exact same as in a xbox 1 dash. Also there is 2 other files you get after the update. xboxdash.xbe, and xonlinedash.xbe but there only 800k and contain almost no data.

so did you try 2 load the exploit fonts on the 360? also, while were at it, can someone try 2 use a savegame sploit, since those ppl at xs are also starting countless threads about it, it would just be good 2 have sum1 actually trying it and then posting the resulats, since there will be 50% less threads created in the xs 360 hacking forums.

Well, the fonts are there. Something has to be loading them. Of course it's the emulator, and even though I don't know if the exploit will work, I'm just going to go ahead and say I do know it won't work. Might as well try, though.

No, I don't have a 360 yet. So when I have one: I don't know enough or make enough money to justify tearing it apart until it's out of warranty or I'm at least sure there isn't anything wrong with it. You won't see me tearing mine apart to do this. Not to mention it's almost already guaranteed a waste of time.

I'm here to learn whatever i can about the xbox 360. not debate the finer points of taking about expensive equipment. I took apart my tv(approx. 4 times the cost of a xbox360) the same week i bought the thing because i was curious if i couild add firewire ports like the model above mine had.. i new i could break it but thats the risk you take when you play. ahh god damn it now im just part of the problem. rambling about.......nevermind

there are too many people that know nothing about electronics thinking that they will hack the xbox 360 by trying different methods that worked on the original console
I'm not quite sure why they think MS would be so dumb to allow these things to go unnoticed, but perhaps they think that the smarter people in the community are too smart and would therefore overlook the 'obvious' exploits

yup, youre right, the font hack or the gamesave sploit is not gonna work, bu trying it would save lots of threads like this wich would save b/w for xboxhacker.net and xbox-scene.com wich would result in lower b/w bills wich would mean more money 2 put aside for x360's wich would mean more hacking material wich would be good for all of us
