I was pondering and toying around with my xbox and the instore demo disc trying to see if I could notice something that has been overlooked and of course to no avail couldn't find anything. That's when it hit me. Maybe rather than altering the files, alter what's reading the files but not by re-flashing the firmware. Instead have an interupt. Maybe even just a simple line of coding injected that would tell the box that the disc is valid. With luck it won't check the disc again and if it's only one file to flash and redo the BIOS or write what's need to the hard drive from say a flash file, then there shouldn't be anything to trigger an invalid flag. It would probably affect the performance too much to constantly check a disc if it's valid or not. Another thought is that if the exe files is named default.xex then technically the codeing is going to be either built from if not built extremely close to the old system. If we can find a new attack point on the old xbox that microsoft does not realize is there, we may get lucky and find it in the new codeing. the plain fact that you can play the old games reinforces that. Halo is already preloaded on the HD. If we can crack Halo then we could get access that way. It may be restricted but it's still something further.

...Maybe I'm just babbling on about something that either doesn't work or has already been looked at but as far as I can see there's still a chance and no harm in trying.

...Creat a chip that plugs into the mobos RAID port and the DVD-ROM into it. It would trigger from the bit of codeing that is the cd validity request and respond (and hopefully block the DVD-ROMs response) with cd validity response true.

Hey just babbling. I'm not sure of all the aspects of the xbox so if it doesn't work for what may seem obvious to you may not be obvious to me. feel free to share.

I'm not talking about hacking it but intercepting it rather. That's why I created another thread.

...into the mobos RAID port...

uh? unless you could create a RAID with Memory Cards i don't know why you'd need a RAID if you have only 1 HDD

The DVD-ROM is running SATA (sorry my bad I said the wrong thing.) Although RAID would be cool.
