Hi Everyone,

I've been trying to read the Firmware of my Samsung drive. I got a MSI Motherboard with ATI SB450 SATA chipset. I had to edit mtkflash with hexedit to make the drive visible. After choosing Master it tries to read the firmware from the samsung drive but when i check after an hour it is still busy,.. and the led on the xbox360 is not flashing...

Anyone got the same problem or got it working with the same chipset?Huh

If it doesnt start within a couple seconds of selecting you controller port, then its not going to work.  Double check your hexing or try a different controller.  Im assuming your talking about the MS25 firmware or is it a different one?

what do you mean with MS25??  I mean reading the firmware of the Samsung drive in my XBOX360. First mtkflash didn't see the drive at all,..  then when i edited the mtkflash to match my SATA chip firmware,.. it did see the sata drives,.  i disconnected all my other SATA HDD drives to make sure the Samsung DVD drive was the only one connected,..  but after choosing option one (master) in mtkflash,.. it keeps giving me a prompt and does not seem to read anything   Sad

and I just read a topic that the Samsung drive doesnt have a modeb,. so that part of the question can be cancelled,....

I'll try to connect my SATA cable to another sata port,..  could it be that it is not reading because i dont use SATA port 1?  I didn't think this would make any difference,...as mtkflash is indeed now able to see the drive,.. shouldn't it be able to read the firmware then also???

The ms25 is the most common one and works fine when on a compatible sata controller, check your bios settings and your hexing.  Maybe search the forum for other people with your setup. (I did a quick search with no results) Try a different sata controller.
