KV Swap - Slim lite-on d5s to d4s

Hi guys,

Just a question  because i'm wondering if this would work... I have a trinity console that is NTSC lite-on d5s, and can i swap the entire KV and drive out for a KV and d4s PAL from one of my dead slims to get a working PAL console? can i keep this retail or will only RGH swapped kv work?

I mean swap whole KV_dec into nand as i thought hashed_KV just meant you couldnt change part of it?

no it will not work as kv has hashing which is unique to the console itself and cant be changed at all

no need to change region if he RGH the xbox as xex can be modded to remove region lock! plus he still cant change region as that still requires to alter or change kv! (if there a patch to remove kv hashing for RGH then that will work no problems but will have to be kept RGH)

Hi guys,

Sorry i havent replied. I got the idea that i could swap the hole kv out (by just crypting it with the new xbox's cpu key) and change an NTSC console to PAL for a dual nand console with live because i had swapped a drive from two diff consoles before.

I hadn't realised it was becuase it was RGH'd that it booted, i ended up trying it myseld one night only to be greeted with xmas lights.

You can only change info's in kv1's as kv2's are hashed...Had the same problem with a corona..

You were greated with xmas lights most likely because you tried to use kv2
