Hi

I have recently found a real good supplier for xbox 360 lenses. They have 2 listed and was wondering if anyone knew of their differences and if they were interchangable?

Here are the 2 models
SF-HD67
SF-HD63

I believe both of these lens are manufactured by Sanyo. Also I though all drives were to use the same lens?

I heard both 360 drives use the same laser (hitachi&samsung)

I can only buy the HD63 laser here.

Yeah I have herd the same, but I am wondering if now maybe there is a new reviesion of the laser they are using with better performance. If that is the case, maybe it would solve some of the media compability issues. I think I will email the distributor and ask them there opinion.

media compatibility is NOT a laser issue.

my samsung dvd lens crapped out. i had a extra samsung sd-816 drive. i opened it up and it had a sf-hd66 dvd lens. installed it in the samsung xbox 360 drive. works great....

i did some research on the lens, here's what sanyo has to say:

Laser head
SF-HD66

The first rally of laser optical, electronic, precision machining, micro-computers, new materials, high-tech processing of the best songs is the first-crystallization technology.
Sanyo companies Patrol set to introduce the latest Japanese technology results produce excellent performance for multimedia and laser first series of products, creating a new generation of audio-visual products at the turn of the century.

1LD+1PD,DVD laser head the simplest tectonic
In a dual wavelength laser

Retrieval : DVD-ROM 16 /CD-ROM 24X 24X

so i guess lithiumC was right "new reviesion of the laser they are using with better performance"
