Hello community I have a bit of a problem on my hands well to start from the beginning i once flashed an older xbox that had a liteon using the original tx probe and everything went swell so a couple of years later i decide to flash another xbox of mine which also has a liteon ( it is a phat stock fw btw on post 13146 dash) using the original probe as well on this xbox knowing full well that there is now a probe v3 availiable Figuring that the worst that could happen is that dvd extraction would fail and in that case i ll just plug it back up and order the probe and retry at a later date. Well i was actually half right, extraction did fail but now my dvd drive wont detect any discs, so my questions are 1) if i order the is it possible that extraction will somehow work, or is this drive done for. 2) if not is there a way to fix it somehow. 3) I did plan on doing RGH on this xbox so through XELL i will be able to grab dvd key that way and once i have that key is it possible that i can then flash with latest Ixtreme firmware and have this drive detect discs once more. Thank you for your help guys i checked your site but i didnt see anyone else with a similar issue.

if the drive still ejects etc the drive is ok most likely the laser is dead and needs replaced.

lasers that are about to die often do when the drive is subjected to a lot of motion being taken out of the casing etc.

To be quite honest with you i think you might be right because prior to me attempting to flash this drive i would sometimes attempt to play a game and it would say open disc tray and then i would have to eject drive and try again until eventually it would work it just hasn't happened latelty so i really didn't even think about it. But thank you for the reply.
