Hellow,

My problem: I had a rgh jasper which hanged a lot after playing for an hour or so. This is probably due to interference on the reset line.

I tried to fix this by rerouting the wire under the board. But now the timing of the glitch was like 5 minutes. I tried to improve this by adding a cap on the reset line.

I started with a 470 pf cap. Though this seemed to help a little it wasn't enough. I tried to add a 270pf to get 740pf. I knew that the cpu can handle this untill 1nf so I played with the values and removed the 270 cap added a 470 cap and so on and so on.

Some combinations where better then others but in the end when I was satisfied I closed the console and again the timing was like 5 minutes.

A little frustrated I added again a 470cap but didn't noticed I allready added a 470pf and a 270pf cap. So the total was 1210pf. The xbox glitched but the boot screen hanged.

After turning off the console I removed the cap and tried to glitch it again. The console won't glitch anymore. I've added a debug led and the led turns on now and then so the console is resetting but it just won't glitch anymore. (Tried with various combinations)

I haven't tried to revert it to stock and remove the reset wire but I sure hope I haven't done any damage by going over the 1n limit people suggested???

Any help is appreciated

Thnx

Br,

Xump

ps: The pll allready has a cap of 470 and a cap of 270pf. And the console used to glitch just fine. The problem started when I rerouted the wire and used a wire that was a little (like 5 cm) longer then the previous one.

Update: Disconnecting the post and re-flashing the original nand caused the xbox to boot again.

The strange thing was that afterwards my original ecc booted like a charm but the xeBuild image was a little harder.

I'm wondering if I start to see patterns that are not really there... What a stubborn Jasper.

There is only one pattern that I can confirm: When it glitches within 10 seconds, each boot will glitch within 10 seconds untill I remove the power supply.

If power is removed the chance is that it won't glitch anymore.

At first I thought that this happens when I put it back into the case but that was just cause the power was removed.

Anyone seen this before???

Regards

You should rather take a look at the CPU_PLL_BYPASS line if it freezes.

Well I have a 470 and a 270 cap on the pll.

I think I'm going to change it to one 641 cap, I just don't own one so I need to find the time to go to the store.

I'll post it when I have some more details.

Thnx
