I have a jtag updated with 14699 dash. I want to know if it is possible to replace the small icon by cover of the game. The icon is too small when you look at your games and we can see that there is a grey place for cover behind the icon. If someone have an idea it will be great.. Thanks!

Same trouble. Probably need to create some program for downloading covers. Fsd can grab cover, rating and other stuff from xbl, so it possible even with banned xbox

I believe FSD uses a third party website instead of official xbl servers for game covers.

I would wager that for new software the cover art will be saved inside the software packages in exactly the same way as with the old NXE art assets. I expect you could manually add the covers to the CON / LIVE / PIRS packages and the dashboard would load them just fine (on a exploited box of course).
You would need to patch the dashboard if you wanted them to be loaded from elsewhere.

I tried your suggestion and sadly it didnt work.. I changed the icon in a god container via HexEditor with an icon that had a bigger/coverstyle resolution (larger than 64x64). Surprisingly the Dash is scaling the "injected" image down... It shows the NEW/REPLACED image in the same little box as all the regular GOD-Containers would do... So there seems to be some restriction inside the dash...idk Still hoping for a resolution soon!

I wouldn't have expected that method to work.
If you open a game with say Xbox Image Browser there is an nxeart file which is a PIRS file containing the art assets for the NXE dashboard. If you knew the new filenames the dashboard was looking for and then added them to a container in the same way I think it would work.

I was under the impression from folks in the beta that you couldn't see covers in 14699 if you were offline (not connected to live.)

That is because the covers are not saved in the current packages and they are not cached if you have been online. Rather like on NXE if you put in a old pre-NXE DVD it would download the art from Live but if you were off line you wouldn't get the art. For new games the NXE art was saved on the DVD so you would get the art when offline.

If you mean the new 14699 art I am not aware of any.

Ah, I misunderstood what you wrote. I read that as they were doing it now with the 14699 covers already. I do hope that they start including it in new games and not only rely on pulling them down from Live. That way we can reproduce it easily.

I would be VERY interested in getting this working. Is there some way of putting an intermediary device between the 360 and the Live Servers to download the covers when the 360 requests them.
That way, the file names etc shoud all be in tact.
A thought.
Where does the 360 cache the cover art on a 360 that is NOT hacked. It may be possible to then copy those files to whereever it saves them and the JTAGed NXE would pick them up?

Covers are streamed from the live servers and getting stored nowhere...
Is there a way to modify the dashboard? Or has anybody ever been able to extract the *.xur files from the provided systemupdate files?
