I was installing a RGH and dont quite know HOW but i got distracted and solder the GROUND pad of a Matrix Glitcher on the 12v pad of the mosfet below

As soon as i turned the console on the matrix started flaming out on the core, and the console isnt turning on anymore

I already bought a new one for the client but now i have this motherboard laying out here

How can i check if the mosfet is the faulty item?

Maybe a mosfet from fat mobo would fit perfectly!! Try to compare the specs and change it as usual.. Smd rework station.

For you that changed a 512 -> 16 mb.. Will be a piece of cake

I'd bet you fried CPU + HANA + SMC because these are all tied together through the coolrunner chip (which became volcano hot as Anak Krakatau's lava.)...

MOSFET Testing

Take it out of the mobo and test, but if you really did that you probably fried the CPU as the CPU_RST point have small resistance between the pad and the CPU.
