Corona 16MB Alt points.

Below is an image of an alternate cpu_rst point for 16mb coronas.

This does not require removal of the xclamp so should speed things up for some.



Top side (probably the more difficult as the underside is soldered to already)

First post here, tried getting help on Team-Xecuter, they have a repair guide that they have also posted on their forums similar to this.

I am in need of assistance with the CPU_PLL_BYPASS,  I have messed up the point, and pulled the resistor Sad  I have replaced the resistor and the wires as per the guide, but the console will not boot, I will include pictures, (except under heat sink, point is well insulated though)

Any assistance is heavily appreciated.

The second foot of the resistor was still available, so I soldered to it, is this the problem?  Where can I find another CPU_PLL_BYPASS positive point so I can solder to it?  This is on a Jasper RGH board I am working on, while troubleshooting I pulled the resistor and I ruined the point after I found a replacement resistor from another board, but my point was gone so I used a 10K ohm resistor.

by installing the wire on that side of the resistor, you are bypassing it. move the wire to the other side. hopefully nothing in the cpu got fried (input diode). power passes through the resistor, to the original install point which is a via, to the top point which is the other side of the via, then to the cpu ball. you could also try adding the 10k on the wire instead of messing around with the points any more.

I already have a 10K on the wire running to the via up-top, as you can see in the picture the resistor pad (positive) and the solder point above it are fuxxed, how would one go about repair them so I can use the positive side of the resistor pad so I can repair the connection, is there a possibility of scrapping the trace and soldering to it even though there's not much of a trace to tin?  I'm a visual learner if you could paint something so I understand I'm sorry Sad

The xbox still powers on but it will not actually boot, so I'm hoping like you, that nothing got fried Sad  But it was a $20 score off craigslist so I won't be too sore if I mess it up, as my cool runner I can install on another board, but this thing booted so damn fast I want it back Cheesy

well, it isnt really a positive side, resistors are typically inline.



you could try cutting the wire and adding the 10k resistor the way i drew it there. check your wire connection, it doesnt look well connected. you could remove the smt resistor (may help you get a better connection for the wire). also the point i painted red appears to be connected to the top resistor point, though you will want to ohm it out with a multimeter before trying it. personally i would remove the smt 10k and go with a carbon film resistor on the wire. try booting a stock nand image with that configuration. if it works, you can connect your bypass wire to the "patch"wire on the side of the resistor going to the top point.

The point does not seem to complete the circuit.  I have already removed the SMD resistor and there is a 10K ohm resistor in the blue heat shrink by my thumb.  I have a wire soldered under the heat sink to complete the top point but I need to know where to solder the bottom point to Sad in the picture I have it soldered to the negative pad that the SMD resistor WAS on, this does not complete the circuit either Sad

I am unable to get the console to boot at all, if I could get to Xell, I would be able to flash a back up of my nand, but my nand-x does not seem to respond to this board, I have falcons, it picks them up no problem, I have xenons it notices immediately, and another Jasper 16mb that it reads fine aswell, maybe without the point it can't complete?  I'm not too sure, but I believe the point is only needed to boot.  I'll keep trying though.  I am using a direct solder method for the nand-x, I do not have luck with QSBs Sad
