Hello Guys First: Sorry for my (probably) bad english, i am swiss-german and jeah, i don't speak english for a long time. So, I've got a problem: I've got an Xbox 360 with flashed Hitachi Drive witch is spoofed as a Lite-On 74.. So now, when i put in a burned Backup it shows me the message: unrecogniced Disc, disc ureadable. But there is one thing: I Got several Original games, and they do all work, and there is also one Backup which is working (it's Portal 2). So my Question is, how can i fix the unrecogniced Disc? I am desparated, i searched on Google, Youtube, i asked some friends, and i also looked here, but maybe i am searching the wrong thing? I Don't know, so i thought: Why do not Post, so this is my first Post All the DVD's are verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5 GB, some burned with ImgBurn, some with CloneCD (Portal 2 burned with CloneCD) burned with the DVD Burned which came with my Tower (it's a Atapi-DVD-Burner) is something wrong with my equipment I also installed for example my Modern Warfare 2 Disc to the HDD, and then tried to play it, but there were also a "Disc unrecogniced" Error So, Thank you very Much for helping me! Thank you Guys! Shad0wbreaker P.S.: And for the admin who has wroten the topic at the beginning of this Forum: I am sorry if i posted this to the wrong place or rewrote the same question (I searched, i swear!)

Aight, and if i have the drive, i can flash it with my key (i safed it on a CD)... But do someone where is the best place to get the drive? And i have another question: Why does Portal 2 work? I 've found a tutorial to fix it, but it didn't work for me (maybe i made mistakes, i didn't understand everything clearly, maybe someone which understood can tell me how): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOmNtrStDgMThe Laser of the other Drive is also weak Bullsh**

Thx to everybody! i think i will buy a new laser from ebay... these things are only 4.50 £ shipping free... I think i will post the result and the replacement with some Photos... I will also research for preventing the weak laser Thanks again You'll need to desolder the anti-static ball that comes on your new Lite-On laser before installing it. What this means is that they've put a ball of solder over three contact points so as to bridge them for shipping purposes. You want to heat and remove this solder so as to leave behind three discrete solder pads, no longer bridged together. You're not completely removing all the solder, just breaking the bridge between the three contact points. The laser will not function if you neglect to do this. Here's a picture of the spot I'm talking about: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/jtmarius/Removalofantistaticball_BenQlaser_3.jpgAlso, while we all appreciate the enthusiasm, laser replacement is well documented. Your time would be better spent on other pursuits. Furthermore, there's nothing you can do to prevent laser diode wear. Just accept it and replace the laser if it breaks. It's possible to get some extra mileage out of POT tweaking, but really you should just address the problem rather than putting a Band-Aid on it. And, for god's sake, don't go to Youtube for tutorials. Especially not when it's a bunch of scrolling text that shouldn't have been put into video form in the first place. Plus, Youtube is full of idiots that don't know what they're talking about.

Thank you very much! i will remove the solder with a solder sucker (does it is called so?)... it should work. i have read somewhere, your laser can get weak during flashing, for preventing this, you can remove the connection between the PCB and the Laser... can someone tell me if this works? i have no idea if you can flash it with the laser disconnected

If the tip of your soldering iron is in good condition it should suck up enough solder to release the bridge. I dont belive That flashing the memory on the pcb could damage the laser, does not seem logic, and if it was true you should see the laser light up during flash and i have never seen that. The changing itself is realy easy and i have a hard time beliving someone could realy screw it up. Good luck!

Just use a soldering iron and gently drag the tip around the contact points, wiping off the solder as it adheres to the tip of the iron. Also, the whole disconnecting the laser thing is years old and it's really not necessary.

You can't spoof drives anymore, still in some cases it works as usual, just not live safe, but in your case by the looks of it you won't be able to play games with AP 2.5 (6 games total). The best thing you can do is try to replace your hitachi for the original model liteon. Problem will be solved and you will be able to play everything, like some friends here already advised you to before... They go for like $30 US on ebay, even less. Good Luck.

Yeah, its sounds like your original laser was fine all along. As the above post states, AP25 games aren't going to work on a spoofed drive. This is because the AP25 checks run by your Xbox expect the responses to be in particular places within the drive firmware, so when you spoof to another drive type those checks are no longer at the correct addresses. Just get the proper model of drive and you will be fine.
