DONT f***%^%^& USE JUNGLEFLASHER FOR UNLOCK!!!
After doing more then 40 in a row, JF is not to be trusted with unlock... i tried a few MXIC that appeared and after probing the trace, it was still showing 0x8c on JF... but after i re-introed the drive it was 0x00!
I saw lots of cases with people losing WINBOND pcb`s becase they were drilling and JF never reported it reached 0x00 status!
I did almost 40 winbons with geremia tool, dremel (105 bit) WITHOUT any resistor and they were ALL fine!

Here is my first one 0225, done with Kamikaze hack 100% exact as on the Geremia video. Works 100%. Just do exactly what is on the video. Carefully with the dremmel just need about 0.2-0.3 mm deep only!!! Not more!!! Used: Lizard toolbox, and Lizard360 Thx: C4eva, Maximus, Geremia Regards: Balage

You are lucky that you got a Winbond that had the WP wire near the surface or else you would have lost your drive for sure! Its more like you were mining on the chipset! LOL

Can the ppl who used the soldering iron trick please check one thing. Is your soldering iron (and wall plug) grounded or not?
Because on most soldering irons the tip is grounded which makes the 3.3v go directly to ground and (in my opinion) that causes the unlock to fail
Checked mine by beeping it out. It's grounded. So I don't know what good applying 3.3v to it would do. Nothing good I suspect! I don't think I severed the WP wire, just heated it a lot and scraped it a bit. Not very scientific but it seems to work for some reason. The main thing I like about this method is that I felt comfortable I wasn't going to go too deep, it's tolerant against your hand slipping and the outcome was perfect so I'll venture to do another and try and keep up my 100% record (1 out of 1) ;-) I wonder if JF isn't leaving enough time between successive unlock commands and the status isn't coming back correctly.

this could be. i have noticed the issue where jf doesnt report 0x00 but reintroing shows its 0x00... i wouldnt say that you should avoid using it (as i believe its the only program that supports the x360usb for this unlock.. correct me if im wrong though).

You're not wrong (unfortunately)
It just means you need to periodically power cycle your drive as you're drilling/melting and stop if it comes up as anything OTHER THAN 0x8C.
When you see it change from 0x8C, stop drilling/melting, power off, Intro and power on for status 0x00. At least that was my experience.

I've been doing unlocks with JF since the 1,86b release because I want to do it thro usb on my laptop, but yes, you must know when to stop, gotta get the feeling and reintro sometimes to see if it did unlock already.

No, JF didn't make a full-dump at it's 86 version, I am sure ther will be a new version from jungle team guys wich could correct actual bugs & make the full-dump possible !! Wait & see, thanks for the hard work doing by Geremia, maximus & his team, team Jungle, team xecuter & c4eva !!! You're heros guys

just succeeded with JF 1.86, I unlocked and flashed an updated 360 with 0272, and JF did warned me when i cut the trace, are you guys using the 3.3V?
Yet unfortunately my traces where not at the coordenates, so i stoped drilling and started scratching(with a needle) slightly above the spot and did manage to cut the trace, and JF warned me with a Windows Pong Sound...
The trace is at 0.1-0.3mm bellow the surface...I ADVISE AGAINST GOING DEEPER, If you are at the spot and already drilled that far, stop and send the command again in JF, it may be locked if the status is not x00 after the drill move position, your trace may be off a bit.
i went about 0.7mm deep with the 100ohm and 3.3V, but i was INCREDIBLY lucky not to hit any traces (i dont have any side effects played for an hour and everything is awesome), drilling with a needle gave me a bigger error margin.
TY GEREMIA!!!!!

I agree with you Mordock. The drilling with a thin tool increase the margin of error. Here I use a 2 mm drill until you start to see the wires and then I finished the job. So I feel safer.

Why are we instructed to drill along the trace that we wish to cut? Wouldn't we be more likely to cut it by drilling orthogonally to the path of the trace?

ok if we drill orthogonally, then you ma be cutting more wires than needed, the wires are everywhere and you may cut the unnedded wires which may make your drive dead. see images ..

Wait & see, thanks for the hard work doing by Geremia, maximus & his team, team Jungle, team xecuter & c4eva !!! You're heros guys Slimkey creates a dummy press read on an unlocked drive for a full dump! I've tried the solder method yesterday (just to try it), didn't go as deep as the other i did with the dremel method, Looked all fine, got 0x00, could read fine, but write verification failed (a bit similar as yours Illness) Relocked it, unlocked it again, got status 0xBC, 0x3C and even another one i cant remember. Drive worked for 5 mins with backups, then only play dvd, so it's f***ed, had to replace the pcb. I'm sticking to the dremel, and the occasional re-intro and waiting times. Feels safer to me, one slight twist with the soldering iron got me deeper in the chip then a soft press with the dremel

It's loooking that using the soldernig iron is so dangerous & may damaged more wires than what we need I am sorry, yesterday, I've read the new JF guide/tutos v1.4.3, Jungle Flasher can make a full-dump very easy, all what we have to do is to follow this tutorial from team jungle: http://hotfile.com/dl/125980443/c03de4b/jftut1.4.3.rar.html
