"... The 1 million question is: will it be possible to detect RGH hardware? I mea, ppl who are running dual boot solutions that "disable" itself and the RGH chip when using the "original" part or their dual boot without DVD firmware mod are really safe? Sometimes I I believe I think too much on these stuff Tongue
I'm just "brainstorming", you know?!

Thanks!"

I want to keep this thread focused on dvd-rom related information/discussion,but if you like, feel free to start a new thread on "Xbox 360 General Discussion" board. This way we can discuss about RGH related themes, and expose our point of view. Smiley

Hello,

Yup, you're right! Thx for the heads up...
So, getting back to the topic then, I'm trying this but JF cannot detect my board. I'm trying on a spare board so no rush here, just trying out.

Apparently the MT1339E is well fit, I looked at the magnifier and no shorts, it seems ok. The MXIC seems ok too, but I can't get JF to detect the board.
I got the MXIC from an old BenQ board and the MT1339E is brand new. I'm powering up the board with CK3 Pro rev D and connecting it up to my PC with X360USB Pro v1. When I start JF, it tells me I have 2 drivers (my DVD and a new one) but no Xbox 360 drive shows where the drive should be. If i click "Intro...", JF detects the drive as 0225 and the MXIC and I can Read the MXIC and JF dumps a BenQ FW, but the Erase and Write a new LiteOn FW fails.

If you guys need some pics I can post, I simply don't have them now.

Any advise on where the error could be is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Pin 3 to Vcc?

Yes miranda, Pin 3 of MXIC tied to VCC unlocks SPI.

Is your post addressed to me?
If so, what pin 3? MXIC or MT1339?

Sorry man, but I kind of got lost on your words.

Thanks in advance!

yesterday i soldered my first MT1339E with internal SPI to a slim liteon board. it gets detected in JF as winbond SPI (yes i was very surprised about that, too)
its behaviour is different from the others, without internal SPI.
after a few tests i tried to SW lock the SPI just for fun - now its locked and it seems there is no way to unlock - beside of drilling it!?
anyway it isnt working correctly - so i leave it as it is.

btw. i got these ICīs from mars-wu from alibaba.
second chineseman who fooled me -.-

Hi CoDeFl@sher,

thank you for your reply, but I can't write the firmware because it doesn't enter in vendor mode, please can you take a look at the pictures and tell me if the wires are soldered correctly? Thank you very much!!!

After doing a number of these, I recommend the following path.

Replace the main MT IC first. Leave the SPI to one side. If you Vendor Intro the board, you should get a 0x72 with a flash ID of FF / FF and a nice message in JF about returning the MRA switch - this is obviously because the SPI isn't there at all.

Once you're happy with the PCB responding to Vendor Intro, go ahead and install the SPI IC. No point in doing both then trying to troubleshoot them together.

Yes, pin 3 of MT. From all that time i think you got it from other forums..but for other readers.

It is a Windbond with internal SPI wich you have locked. It needs kamikaze for unlock. I don't think the Chinese man fool you.

Glad that this forum is back online...but in mean time other forums started to look like this.
Now should we move to MT replacement on 16D5S Smiley
Cheers!

hey guys,

i just bought this item:

http://www.globalmall.hk/views.asp?hw_id=1201

i cant get the status 72. Im using x360usbpro v2 and the newest JF. When i press on intro, i get: status 80 and then 51 but no 72
In the discription it sais that there is a WP switch, but there is no switch.
So i googled a little bit:

http://www.ixtreme.net/open-forum/33418-unlocking-mt1339e-pcb-board.html

Downloaded the datasheet for the mx25l2005 spi and liftet Pin 3 so its not grounded anymore.
After that i soldered Pin 3 to 3,3V inline with 10 Ohms, but still i get status 51.

What am i doing wrong? Cheesy

i dont know if this is normal but: i found out that as soon as i turn on the drive 3,3V is grounded but i still get 3,3 on the meter?

k28,Open the JFTUT 1.4.5 pdf under the newest JF documentation folder and read carefully all the steps from page 211 up to 218 and then try again. You can also try the ''Slim bad flash recovery" method to get in vendor mode (page 204 up to 206).Enjoy!
