appearantly the drives used for kreons have the controller/spi needed..

samsung sh-d163. but odds are youll be paying more for this drive since it was in demand at one point in the past to use with kreons Smiley

I have disassembled a SH-D163B right now, but there is no MT1339, it is an MT1309. What a pity...
Does it have to be D163C?

EDIT:
Yeah, bought a D163C and there is a MT1339E in it.

there is also the MX??

Placing a switch to pin #1 allows you to switch between two SPI chips. Right?
I'm going to try this on my slim. I got extra MX25L2005 and MT1339 chips. I'll use original image for non-hacked mode and iXtreme LT+ 2.0 for hacked/glitched mode.

Can M$ detect the SPI chip model? MXIC or Winbond? Should I use Winbond w25p20 for the original image?

d4m4n if the original drive was MXIC embedded, use MX25L2005 spi. if Winbond, use W25P20 spi.I never tryed  Dual SPI but,if you want to test don't forget to select the spi you want to boot before power on the system.

Anyone got extra W25P20 chips? Or is there some dvd drive model with this chip inside?

The spi chips will be wired to the same switch that I use for nonhacked/RGH-mode. It will be used when the machine is powered off.

Do you have 3.3V on MPX01?
From the scheme it seems that 3.3v is on a lower pad, on the right of the resistance.

Cya!

The console can't recognize the drive too. The user @cashimi001 have the same problem in first page but no body answer him.I read every forum and I don't know what is the problem.May me the SPI problem, but it lock and unlock well and I can write the firmware without issue. Can somebody tell me what I do?
I can post JF log if nessesary.

Do you mean the Xecuter Pro Kit white PCB with the SPI chip? If yes then I have to look for one.

I have installed one but did not check the SPI model.

Try to use short wires between spi and MT controller, and after perform a write operation  press the "Outro/ATA Reset"button twice before power off the drive.

The W25P20 and W25X20 both work? The X model is available from Digikey.

d4m4n take a look on datasheets of both W25P20 / W25X20, and choose that with same Manufacturer ID and Device ID of your original spi.

Thanks for the hint. They both seem to have the same ID's.

I have an MT1339e controller chip and an MX25L2005 spi flash chip for sale if anyone's interested. $25 plus shipping for the pair, shipped from Arizona.  These are the two components needed to do this mod.

The MT1339e came from a brand new Lite-On drive (which I paid about $25 for a few months back and never did anything with), and the MX25L2005 came from an old Benq drive of mine. I've had them lying around as a backup, just in case I botched a Kamikaze hack. But I've pretty much perfected my Kamikaze at this point, so I doubt I'll ever use them. I was very careful in lifting both, so I can guarantee you that they're fully functional.

PM or email me at gavingt@gmail.com.

No, not from pro kits.
I am talking about those from replacements pcb boards from TX.

Yes, W25X2 is available on digikey if is a must to run the same spi.
But TX came later with an 2 spi pcb board, and nobody knows for sure if that matters or not.

I was having this issue twice.

Once was because of the switch witch is signaling the tray closing, the one with yellow cables, was moving from is location

The second is after an kamikaze applied the tray don't stay close. I'll let you know if replacing the MT is fixing the problem.
